The ten worst cover songs

marc anthony's rendition of "lucy in the sky with diamonds" it was laughably bad.
That song should never again be covered after Shatner. How could you top the captain?
sonic youth doing mudhoney's "touch me i'm sick"

gnr's "live and let die" and "knockin' on heaven's door"

eric clapton's "knockin' on heaven's door"
A Perfect Circles cover of Lennon's imagine. Upsets me a great deal. Also, Korn's cover of …The wall

And their cover of Cameo's "Word Up." That's just fuckin' wrong!

Or how about Fatboy Slim's cover of "The Joker" by the Steve Miller Band?? BLEAH!!
it couldnt be any worse than the original by the most monotone no talent person to ever release a recording!
They just had a 1 hour show on covers on RTE2 (fm radio) prompted after the very positive reviews of the Beautiful South's new album….(mankie not in the majority on that then)

Anyway, has anyone heard Brian Adams cover Oasis's Wonderwall? As much as I hate to admit anything positive about pockface Adams, it's damn good. Noel Gallagher's comment when he heard it was, "Fuckin brilliant! That's the way that song was supposed to be sung"

Honourable mentions on awful covers,

Atomic Kitten doing Blondies "Tide is high"

Rolph Harris doing "Stairway to heaven" (honestly, I heard it)

Some other girl band doing U2's with or without you.

It turns out a whole generation thought Nirvana's "man who sold the world" was actually original work by wankstain Cobain…FUCKING NERVE OF KIDS TODAY!

Honourable mentions for great covers,

Sid Vicous "My way"

Pearl Jam's cover of some Neil Young song.

Hendrix cover of Dylans "watchtower"

Sinead O'Conners "Nothing compared to you" which was actually written by Prince for some other band evidently.

I just heard this on the radio…What a steaming pile of shit!
Soft Cell's "Tainted Love" cover was also voted as a good one in Ireland.

How's nutty Marc doing by they way?
"Sweet Jane" by the Cowboy Junkies… BORING!
Coma inducing, even.

I never even knew of the Duran Duran version of "911…" What a farce.
I actually liked it. It's kind of a honkeytonk version of it. Their cover of the Doors "Crystal Ships" was really good too. Simon sounded a lot like Jim on it! Duran Duran put out a bunch of "tributes" on their album called "Thank You"

How about that Arvil cover of System of a Down "Chop Suey" AWFUL

MindCage
Mindless Faith
Deep6 Productions
it's even worse because they take out the best parts of the song, and the cool lyrics, and just use the bridge!

It's Ryan Adams, btw. Big difference, even for you…
