Congrats Rhett & baby

Rhett, to keep from hijacking the Just Announced thread and driving Kosmo fully crazy, congratulations!

I was up this weekend with my sister and their 4-week old (I was up for three days the first week as well). Those first weeks are really strange and wonderful and scary and completely entirely new baby focused. You've got a lot to look forward to…
congrats, Rhett. Any pics?? :)
Congratulations Rhett and Family!

No, it's not a Spice Girls announcement, but…

I'd like to announce that my awesome wife Celeste gave birth to a healthy, beautiful alt-country lovin, White Stripes hatin baby girl at our house Friday night. Both of my wonderful girls are doing well.

As best I could tell, our daughter's first words were, "Billy Corgan is a money grubbing corporate tool." Or something like that.
congrats, rhett! but how do you know she's alt-country loving? a lot of kids' tastes are in rebellion to those of their parents. but best of luck shaping her musical tastes, tho!

how was the birth-at-home? nerve-racking at all? glad to hear all went well.
woohoo! Congratulations! :)
CONGRATS! :) you old family man you!
congrats rhett - now the fun really begins!
Congrats! And please fight the urge to top this name…

LONDON (AFP) - Baby Autumn Brown has a name to live up - in fact she has over 25 of them.

The little girl's mother Maria, in keeping with her boxing-mad family's bizarre tradition, decided to give her 25 middle names - all culled from the greatest exponents inside the ring.

Her full name, which left register office staff in Perton, Wolverhampton reeling is: Autumn Sullivan Corbett Fitzsimmons Jeffries Hart Burns Johnson Willard Dempsey Tunney Schmeling Sharkey Carnera Baer Braddock Louis Charles Walcott Marciano Patterson Johansson Liston Clay Frazier Foreman Brown.
I'm going to do that to my kid, but instead of great boxers, it'll be aliens from the Mos Eisley Cantina.

Congrats, fam! God bless the wifey & your newborn seed!

Now start the girl off with some Stones, & I'll make her a hip-hop mix CD once I can find some clean edits. ;)
well you know… these were both released today:
Various Artists: Rockabye Baby! Lullaby Renditions of The Pixies [cd]

Various Artists: Rockabye Baby! Lullaby Renditions of the Rolling Stones [cd]
Awesome news..congrats! SO…what's the first song that your little newborn will hear on this planet? I'll be very curious to hear what you picked.
Congrats Rhett. You waited just long enough to have a daughter that there is nearly no chance I will ever shag her, unless of course I decide to stop following my rule.

As for Celeste however:

awesome! good job makin babies
Celeste is now officially a MILF!!!!
Congratulations to the three of you. Our friends down here just had a baby a bit early (8 weeks early I think)…..just shy of 4lbs.

Now the fun 'really starts'!

This has been my June with Rory's teacher.
Teacher -Mr. Oxley, Rory his hitting his friends in class.
Me - Oh, I'm sorry what't the circumstances?
Teacher - Well, Chase pushed him so Rory punched him.
Me - Well I bet Chase doesn't push Rory again.

Yesterday,
Teacher - Mr. Oxley, Rory and Chase were in the bathroom and they flashed their penis's to the girls.
Me - Err, well, err, I'll talk to him Miss Trudy.

It's fun, oh so much fun!!
I'm going to be a horrible parent. I laughed at every one of those….
Thanks for all of your kind words. This is really a wonderful time for both of us.

Bags: Congratulations on the arrival of your niece (or nephew)? Your sister is lucky to have you around to help out. All of our relatives are hundreds of miles away, though of course we have friends who all seem to be having kids these days who will be here for support.

Bearman: Good question about what song was first heard. My wife actually had hoped to have music playing during the birth, but that didn't happen. I think she played the new Wilco album shortly after the birth, so that's the first thing baby heard. It may be wishful thinking, but I'm hoping that the Old 97's at Artscape will be babies first show. We already bought some hearing protection for her. Hopefully this will push her in the right direction musically!

We had planned an all natural drug and intervention free birth at a midwife run birth center. As labor progressed, we made the decision to just go ahead and have it at home. The bottom line was that the contractions had grown quite intense, and C didn't want any part of having them during a car ride. It turned out to be a wonderful decision, and she almost gave birth on our back deck, before moving into the bedroom.

And since some of y'all asked, here's some pics from her first hours on earth. Be nice, I know I'm an old man/dork! Thankfully, she looks just like her mommy.

Congratulations Rhett. It is always good to learn about the more humane part of this board.
