BLISS this Sat with Dave P and JDH and the Boggs live

Dear friends,

BLISS exhorts you to GET RAD this Saturday. We will be joined by guest DJs Dave P from Phillyâ??s monster party Making Time and JDH, partner with Dave in NYCâ??s tightest new music joint, Fixed. You know these dudes are well qualified to make a crowd bounce. Performing LIVE at 1:00 a.m. is Brooklynâ??s the Boggs who will be recording a special broadcast for XM Radio earlier in the day. Weâ??ve been moving to Hot Chipâ??s remix of their â??Arm in Armâ? for some time, now itâ??s time to shake it to them live. Letâ??s show these New Yorkers how we do in DC. And if that werenâ??t enough, local Pow Wow DJs Kim and Sara start us off right with the heaviest hits and resident DJ Will Eastman gives you what you need. It all starts at 9:00 p.m. at your favorite house of leisure, Black Cat, Washington, DC.

About JDH and DAVE P
When "Men of Letters" JDH & DAVE P are not promising 'partytilyoupuke' anthems and a "radenning of the dancefloors" (Dazed & Confused), they can be found remixing Franz Ferdinand, Klaxons, Bloc Party, touring with 2manydjs/Soulwax across Europe & America twice-over, masterminding the hot-to-death Fixed parties from New York to Miami, and finding the time to release a portable and deeply danceable version of their party magic via the Go Commando mix compilation on NYC's Defend Music. Get Rad.

About THE BOGGS
Over two years in the making, The Boggs' new album, Forts, follows on the unhurried heels of 2002's We Are The Boggs We Are and 2003's lost critics' darling Stitches. Forts' birthing process started on mastermind Jason Friedman's kitchen floor in Berlin before being brought to maturity in late 2006 at New York's Gigantic Studios. As cartographers of the New Weird America â??before such a term came into marketing play â??The Boggs have laid claim to territory well outside the usual indie imaginings. Instead, the group creates a musical landscape that manages to be both achingly familiar and yet almost lunar in its strangeness â??a field recording beamed in from a world in which boundaries and decades are irrelevant.

About POW WOW DJs
Kim Klinger and Sara Rycroft, who are not sistersâ??thanks for mentioning the resemblance though â??co-pilot the rock and roll party Pow Wow. The brainchild of vinyl guru Adam Rycroft (actual sibling to Sara who has left dirty DC for even dirtier LA), Pow Wow is a big old mess of garage rock, 60s psych, 70s punk, powerpop, bubblegum, the occasional classic rock or metal track, and whatever else we feel like playing through a Jameson haze. You can find it every Wednesday at Spy Lounge and occasionally at the Rock and Roll Hotel. You may find yourself waking up in a gutter afterwards.

Expect to hear Pow Wow's heaviest hits, spun in the girls' charmingly sloppy style

This is going to be hype, I'll be in NYC on Saturday with the MOZFather or I'd be all over it…hopefully the party people will come out and support this so there'll be incentive to continue these events.

Making Time will be blowin up the following Friday at PURE with Simian Mobile Disco live, be there or just stop breathin……
There were only about 25 people there, 8 of which were with me, and we all thought they rocked.

I know they rock, guys. I was just making a reference to what I said when I first walked back upstairs…I bet they're great, and I really regret missing the show!
