Sincere thanks for this. Something I want to study sometime in the next couple of years is the media reaction to new portable music devices, comparing the iPod to the Walkman and the transistor radio. Obviously, they've got wacko over the iPod in ways that make the Walkman look quaint, even though the Walkman may have actually had a greater impact in the long run.

Here's my question. It's finally time for me to replace my 3.5 year old iPod. Now, are they going to come out with a new one in the next couple of months? Last time I got the 20GB, which was biggest at the time, only to have a 40 come out two months later. Ggggrrrr.
