Echo & the Bunnymen

Kind of a roll call, kind of a call…. I was to be on my way to France Friday, but circumstances have intervened and that trip is delayed. So, if there's a ticket floating around, well…I'd be a happy camper (I know I should have said happy death men, but too morbid).
And, anyone have comments on the new album "Siberia"?

I like it a great deal, I think it's very solid (especially considering the period of time since the last one).
If not for the HFStival debacle and Bright Eyes/Magic Numbers being the same night, I'd be there.

I'm there! Plus I get to see them a week later in Chicago too :) Bags, I know a friend who might not be able to go. Will find out later in the week if she can't make it and will let you know.

Just let me know…I'd love to go, but won't be crushed if I don't, which is a nice place to be. ;)

The French riot nearly as often as the sun rises.
I would still make the trip. Hell, I might even riot with them, because otherwise France sucks!

I think if you were already a fan, then you would like the new one. It has 4 or 5 good songs on it. If you were just introduced to the band via Siberia, you'd probably wonder what all the fuss is about. Overall, I'd say it's a midddle of the road E & B release. Not their best, certainly not their worst.

Cancellation's not due to riots, I just got out of the hospital… While I'll be fine, there are enough 'questions' that international travel so soon isn't a great idea. Trust me, I don't tend to cancel easily, just feels right to do so now. We're rescheduling, a friend moved there.

I should be there unless my friends drag me to see the new Harry Potter movie instead. Hope you can get a ticket, Bags. I'll let you know if I decide not to go.

ditto on the feeling better bit..
My brother and his family who just returned from living in France four years would disagree with you on the "French hating forgeiners" statement. In fact the French are enjoying the monetary spoils of the tourist trade and in general more accepting of those not speaking french. Unless, of course one is seen wearing shorts and black socks…

I have a ticket, but can't go. I'd be happy to meet someone at the door to make a trade-off, since the ticket is at will call. Doors open right at 8, correct?

I'm all set…thanks everyone! At this point, it's discouraging that I'm looking forward to Part Two of Dr. Phil's First Wives Club show this afternoon. ;)

I'm kind of surprised that this show wasn't at the 9:30 because it appears that a lot of folks weren't able to get tickets (by looking at the bunnymen board). I know they won't play "Do It Clean", but I really am keeping my fingers crossed that they'll dust it off. God I love that song.

Are these guys enjoying something of a comeback? Because I remember a decade or so ago, seeing them billed at, I kid you not, Scandals in Ocean City MD.

I don't remember that (maybe it was the ill-fated Echo lineup without Ian McCulloch). In any case, they're still solid (with the exception of the disastrous HFStival appearance).
