I had the luck to see both that show and the "free" radiohead show the night of the cancelled Tibetan Freedom Concert and it was absolutely amazing to see both bands in such a small venue. Are there really that many people out there willing to pay $40 to see Simple Minds weeze through "Don't You Forget about me"? Do they think they are the Pet Shop Boys or something? I would have thought the US fanbase for the Simple Minds dried up long ago.

I couldn't imagine the crowd at a Simple Minds concert. However, if Molly Ringwald happened to be there, I'm sure she'd be drawn to me. If only I possessed Anthony Michael Hall's comedic charm.

Sorry to disappoint Mank, but the alt-country shows over at Iota always draw capacity crowds.<BR> If Seth had his way, we'd be having a lot more Loretta Lynn shows at the 9:30 Club, which would be right fine by me. It would be interesting to know which bands that play the 9:30 are total crap in Seth's mind, but I suppose as a business owner, one wouldn't want to slag the product. Though I do remember him commenting not too favorably on Nellie Furtado. Though she'll probably be such a big star now that she won't play the 9:30 anyomre anyway.
