it's time to play...ASK AN OWNER!!!

Seth,
What exactly did you do to get Rage Against The Machine to play the 9:30 Club in november of '99? I had the luck to see both that show and the "free" radiohead show the night of the cancelled Tibetan Freedom Concert and it was absolutely amazing to see both bands in such a small venue. Just wondering if you had an stories about the Rage show… Thanks

seth,
gimme gossip please…..
who's been the biggest asshole(s), had the weirdest demands, left the place like a shitehole….
come on seth i want names…dates the whole shebang
Are there really that many people out there willing to pay $40 to see Simple Minds weeze through "Don't You Forget about me"? Do they think they are the Pet Shop Boys or something? I would have thought the US fanbase for the Simple Minds dried up long ago.
hey kosmo easy……
i like simple minds and for $40 bucks he might promise you a miracle…..
thirsty will probably go though……
the chicks will be drawn to him for his anthony michael hall looks all through dont you forget about me….thirsty thats got to be worth $40 bucks right?
Only a night with Molly Ringwald would be worth 40 bucks
I couldn't imagine the crowd at a Simple Minds concert. However, if Molly Ringwald happened to be there, I'm sure she'd be drawn to me. If only I possessed Anthony Michael Hall's comedic charm.
Thirsty do you look more like the teen version of Anthony, or the adult version where he looked like he was on steroids?
When I was a teen, I looked like the teen version.
[This message has been edited by thirsty moore (edited 04-12-2002).]
My brother told me I look like Willie Tanner from ALF, but I don't listen to my brother.
how many of the bands that you (and the club) host do you actually like?
see, if i had a club, only bands that i liked would be there. i'd only let in people that i liked. the bar would only sell beer that i like.
of course, i wouldn't make much money…

Some places only have salsa music, etc etc. there'll always be some like-minded people musically speaking in a major metropolitan area…well, unless you're Rhett of course.

Sorry to disappoint Mank, but the alt-country shows over at Iota always draw capacity crowds.
If Seth had his way, we'd be having a lot more Loretta Lynn shows at the 9:30 Club, which would be right fine by me. It would be interesting to know which bands that play the 9:30 are total crap in Seth's mind, but I suppose as a business owner, one wouldn't want to slag the product. Though I do remember him commenting not too favorably on Nellie Furtado. Though she'll probably be such a big star now that she won't play the 9:30 anyomre anyway.

Props to the Brits man, they discover our best music before we do (e.g. Eva Cassidy).
Yah, and the backstreet boys broke Britain first too. Wuh hu wooooooooo
I have the feeling that Seth does not like answering any of our questions?
I think he just wants to remind us of who the boss is?
And dont say Sprinsteen or he will get upset……
An' we gonna have RABBITS, right George?

quote:
Originally posted by thatguy:
sorry, i've still got a little over two years left on my indentured servitude. after seven years, i get my freedom, and a little bit of land to start a farm on. all that, and i still get 7 bucks an hour. (just like everybody else, right seth?) sweet deal, huh?

I thought that Josh preferred Lizards to rabbits.
Perhaps if Josh gets enough land Rhett will join his commune, well if you get sheep and goats that is?
