hmmm. that sounds like FUN!
Tickets $76… whoa.
I saw this X show listed on the band's website and was really intrigued….it's a shame there are no good shows in this area for New Years….really lame ass for years,to be honest….I remember when I lived in SF in the early 90's and got to see a really great New Years show…Primus,Pixies & Janes Addiction…..it was an EVENT and one hell of a good time!!…..That being said,if I'm not at a BCS Bowl game on New Years in one of 3 or 4 different cities,I may try to get out to LA for the X show…..I'm gonna ask John Doe about it when I see him at Java next month….

Any cool New Year's Eve shows that anyone knows about? I'm going to be in Calfornia, trying to decide what to check out, but I'd be curious to see what kind of concerts are happening in other places that night. I'll start:

X
The Majestic Ventura Theater
Ventura, CA

Reverend Horton Heat/Nashville Pussy
House of Blues
San Diego, CA

once again, i will hope for thievery corporation to rock the 930 on NYE.

damnit, one year it will happen! it will!
Cracker/Camper Van Beethoven in PDX at the Doug Fir
I'll be in Salt Lake City, Utah for New Years. I'm not holding my breath for a show there around then…especially because it would have to be appropriate for my 13 and 14 year old nieces, as well.

can you explain to me why Portland is referred to as PDX? is this simply because of the airport?
Headed over to the Australian and then the Hawaiian Internationals. Then me and Mick are gonna wing on over to London and jam with the Stones.
Does New Years day qualify for this thread?

1/1/08
Social Distortion w/The Randies
Anaheim, CA - House Of Blues
In my case it does…I'm going to try to see that show Vansmack. How about you?

No.

That would be the New years DAY thread.

Besides, do you really have to rub it in?
I mean Jesus, they have 26 shows between the Anaheim and W Hollywood HOB's in the next two months, and none east of the rockies. :(

You know, I have no idea what we're doing for New Years (I can barely remember where I have to be for Thanksgiving). But as soon as we figure it out, I'll let you know. I'd love to catch that show with you.

When's the last time Jimmy's Chicken Shack crossed the Rockies? Fair trade, I say.

Yep, that's pretty much it. :) Of course, there's also Bridgetown, Stumptown, City of Roses, etc.

Another show announced: Wu-Tang Clan at the Roseland Theatre in PDX

The Warfield
New Years Eve!
Monday, December 31
Dresden Dolls will be playing in NYC on the 31st. And lots of rumours that The Cure will be playing here as well.
For those of you that hate NYE, and live in the DC area, might I suggest something different:

Monty Python and Holy Grail at the AFI on NYE.

I'm tempted to see Chuck Brown at the 930, but I think Monty Python would be damn fun.
know of any other shows in the ny area? i think i may head that way this year. unless something good comes up in dc.
