sonar isnt awful or anything, but the stage is not really elevated so it makes things hard to see. also those huge gay pillars. i thought the sound was pretty good though.

the sound.
the pillars.
the low ceiling.
i know the 930 is smoking, but the low ceiling helps the smoke to just hang there and that just makes it worse. the sonar show was the least enjoyable of the mogwai shows i saw on the spring tour.

I'm bummed. I really wanted to go to this, but my wife's father broke his hip, so she had to go take care of him. Leaving me to take care of the boy, who is almost 2 and still doesn't know how to make his own dinner or anything like that.
Everyone is so selfish except me.

Maybe the 930 club should offer daycare.

I'm willing to bet that on some night thatguy already thinks it is a daycare center…

we definitely already run a daycare center.
babies and drunks have a lot in common: they can't communicate their wants and needs directly, they stumble around a lot, they throw up and soil their pants, they cry and fuss when they don't get what they want, they require constant supervision, and so on.
all of my work experience that isn't in my current field is actually in childcare. my degree is a general one, but my focus was always on developmental psych. i don't think the club would want me taking on any little charges throughout the night, though. might be an insurance risk to have me running in to break up a fight or something with a kid strapped to my back.

What a beautiful image!
Know exactly how you feel. As you know, I use to teach Art but I also use to tend bar. Use to always say that they were very much alike in some ways, except that bartending is so much easier. For one thing, if a bar patron gets out of hand and tells you to 'fuck off', you can tell them to 'fuck off' right back (though not the ideal option) and have them put out. However, if a student tells you to 'fuck off', in this day and age, odds are that there's not a damn thing that you can do about it. Of the two, give me the bartending job any day of the week!

…by the way, on that note, did the smoking ban go into affect at 9:30? i haven't been at the club in a few weeks, but the last two shows i was at were both non-smoking, and it was kind of weird…two in a row…so, are they ALL non-smoking now?
