Social D

Kinda deaf…and more than kinda drunk. On a Tuesday. Work in 6 hours. That being said, I had a fucking BLAST tonight. Sorry I missed those of you that may have been there.

Setlist? You got it:

Road Zombie
Reach For the Sky
Highway 101
Under My Thumb
Mommy's Little Monster
Lude Boy
Sick Boy
Far Behind
Ball & Chain
6 More Miles
Gotta Know the Rules
Sometimes I Do
That Blues Thang
Nickles & Dimes
——————-
Prison Bound
Ring of Fire

OK, Bearman is drunk and a year older. Night night. Will recount details in the morning. In the meantime, he loves you all (yes, even Rhett) and wishes you nothing but love, peace and sweet dreams. I should do this more often. Lily, I'm sure this is bringing back some memories. Fuck I'm loaded. Oh yeah, the Hangmen wished me a happy birthday. Didn't that fucking rock? What cool guys. The Heart Attacks were fun too. Sleepy time for Bearman. Arms of Morpheus wrapped around me….so good.
i looked for you, but never saw you. spent most of my night in the back, away from the crowd. happy birthday.
Sorry I missed you…I was looking for you too, weird how somehow we missed each other! I had a lot of fun, was kind of stunned I made it into work on time but I'm feeling a bit better thankfully. I actually liked Ram's Head, the sound wasn't bad either. I'm looking forward to seeing Queens of the Stone Age there.
I saw this band years ago and 90% of the audience had tattoos. The show is a big blur to me now, maybe I'm not too into them or they're not that good (?) j/k
I saw Social D. with Screaming Trees opening in NYC. I can't even imagine what the year was.

I'm sure many of you have this dvd, but if not, get it. It's funny as hell…great viewing.

Solid show, as always. Mike Ness came out looking somewhat menacing in the Orange County Guerilla gear, but proved to be in a rather goofy mood. Like he spent the afternoon on vicodin watching Mitch Hedberg dvds. The crowd was giddy too - especially the 'all ages' pit in front of the stage. From my spot the vocals and guitars were a bit muffled - the Les Paul/Marshalls actually sounded better for the Hangmen - but I also was further back to stay clear of the ever expanding pit.

I also liked the Ram's Head. Smaller than I was expecting . . . and enjoyed good food and local brews at the Tavern watching the O's game before heading in. And I'm also looking forward to seeing QOTSA there.
I think you're lucky that you got 6 More Miles in the set. I don't think I've heard any cuts from the solo albums when I've seen them. Bonus points for it being Hank's tune.

It's become a staple lately (at least the last two times I've seen them). Most people don't talk about it because they don't know what it is, which is a shame.
