Music for the weather

It's getting chilly and the mood changes to more chilly type music. I went for Peter Murphy way too early this morning and struck out there but have now comfortably settled into some old Mark Lanegan and acoustic Tom Waits stuff. Next up…Lush for when the sun hits the windows but I can still see all the trees shedding their leafs and weaving to and fro.

Does this kind of weather related taste in music affect anybody else? I would think it's pretty common.

Me too, Chaz. Punk rock fucking galore. A lot of Germs, early Social D, and Minor Threat for me. Great stuff when you're pissed off and you know that many people out there hate your guts because you're one of the "bottom feeders" of society.

They played Nation a few weeks back and it was sold out.

I'm seeing them in SF on Monday and Tuesday of next week.

The new album is a bit more feel good then their early albums, but don't mistake feel good for soft. It will still hit you across the nose if you're not paying attention. And they're still the shit live.

Oh yeah…that's why I never go see Social D…they always play Nations. I think it's been 10 years since I saw them, at least.

When i was like 15 and 16 we'd watch that movie "Another State of Mind" all the time and think how cool it'd be if our shitty little band could go on tour…….

Indeed. Iggy speaks loudly. If you're into that kind of stuff check out a band called Kung Fury at Iota on 11/27. Very kick-ass Stoogey style rock led by an Arlington native and tremendously cool dude named Shaun Brennan. If you ever saw Vanity Champ it's the same Shaun from that band.

Uhh…Shaun's been one of my best friends since I was in the 10th grade. We surely know each other.
