I started on the NFL beat in 1984, so I have a two-decade window. I jotted down in the margin of my white legal pad as I kept play-by-play of Steelers 27, Eagles 3:
1. The '85 Bears.
2. The '89 49ers.
3. The '90 Bills. (They lost to the Giants in the Super Bowl, but that Buffalo team beat its first two playoff foes by about a million to 3. I thought there was no way on God's green earth the Giants would win that game after Buffalo stomped Oakland 51-3 in the AFC Championship Game.)
4. The Cowboys at two or three points from '92 to '95.
5. Maybe – and I underscore maybe – the 2000 Ravens, because playing against that defense late in the season made the game a hopeless cause unless the Baltimore offense turned it over a bunch."

I got this kid in first grade that is nuts about the Steelers, and football in general. I've never seen him wear anything but football jerseys, both NFL and NCAA. And the great thing is, he is like Rain Man when it comes to knowing stuff. He must have like 30 different jerseys, and the other day he was donning a USC jersey. The PE teacher and I were asking him facts about the team, and he knew the quarterback, coach, and like three other position players. For every jersey he wears, he at least knows the above facts. But the Steelers are his favorite team, and it's funny as hell when he tries to pronounce the QB's name. He ends up spitting everywhere.

I still consider them the best team out there. I was just blowing off steam cause most of my friends up north are Partiot fans and I hear about it when I go up there. This is just me getting a moral victory. The Patriots are the best team at adapting to other teams so I'm sure they'll see what went wrong and correct it. Starting with the four turnovers. But I am glad that we snapped the streak, so even when they do supposedly Kick Their Butts in the playoffs, at least the 1972 Dolphins will still be glad we showed up earlier in the year and they can always say they "ended the streak".
Oh yeah, the Steelers had big injuries also including the Pro Bowl Nose Tackle that woulda held Dillon from making those big yards he was supposedly gonna get if he had played.

If I remember correctly, and I could be wrong, the playoffs are played in Sports Bars.
yeah, its been a good couple of weeks to be a stillrz fan. figured a split in those two games would be HUGE, never expected two wins.
while there are several nice steelers bars in the area, its all about having buddies with the dish. granted i have to go to manassas to watch games, but ah well

The buzz surrounding the Steelers will die down soon when they lose one which I'm scared to say will happen within the next two weeks. For some reason Cleveland and/or Cinci always takes one from us no matter how inept their teams are. And both aren't that horrible this year. But the Steelers will definitely bounce back soonafter and DEMOLISH the 'skins. The rest of schedule is cake with the exception of the Jets and maybe the Jags if Leftwich will be back from injury. And the Ravens aren't doin' shit in our house.
