Anyone else going?
I've been looking forward to this one; the album has been on constant repeat for a few months now.

Any idea what time they'll go on now that one of the other bands has cancelled? Here's hoping the answer is "earlier."

I was there… I passed on Holy Fuck. I can't take a band seriously with a name like that, so I just showed up for Wolf Parade. Had some other stuff to do anyway. I thought Wolf Parade were very good, if not quite great, but no complaints. I'd go see them again next time they come through.

Meh. Like I mentioned above, I really like the album; it's definitely top 10 of last year. But I thought the show was lacking something. Granted, I had fun when the band was playing the songs that I like. But I wasn't moved by any songs that were either new or were so-so for me on the album. Worth the money, but it wasn't really a memorable night. In fact, I would've left early if they hadn't saved "I'll Believe in Anything" until last.
I split after that song; did I mis an encore?

Encore songs are Dinner Bells and a new song (I think). Yeah, it was a good show, not great.

i left just before the encore too. i thought it was a good show, but i was really beat and didn't get into it as much as i had expected. holy fuck was pretty good for an opener. i'm going to the sat ottobar show so i'll probably head there early to catch them again.

I was pretty unimpressed. I am a huge fan of the album and thought that it would carry over to a live setting pretty well.
The lyrics were very weak last night…I don't know if it was the mix or simply poor singing.
Holy Fuck seemed to play the same song for 40 minutes.

I was disappointed. I too loved the album and was hoping for a more transcendent performance. Also the sound was wack - muddy towards the back, but up front every ping of the keyboard was like a metal spike pounding into my eardrum. Would like to see them again someday with good sound. Ah, dreams…

could this have had anything to do w/ it being at the Black Cat? The last few shows I've been to there have not been great. The sound there is awful.

Agree completely.

i was super dissapointed with the wolf parade show at the ottobar. first of all, no cameras, video, or audio. what the fuck? second of all, i thought the show sucked and their songs on the album didn't translate very well live. the vocals were super weak and their sound was terrible. i left after 4 songs.
on top of that, they were arrogant and very "rockstar" on stage to say the least. the guitarist/singer brought up a bottle of jim beam on stage and started swigging it like he was in guns n roses.f that noise. they're dead to me.
