I got it overseas, but I understand it's coming out here at the end of this month. There's even talk that they may actually come to the US for promotion/shows (Hey Seth…).

I think it's closer to "Everything Must Go" than "The Holy Bible" but still a huge improvement over "Lifeblood".

EDIT: It's on iTunes now. CD in shops on the 24th.
great news! so glad to hear theres hopes that theyll be back again. i saw them what seems like years ago at bimbos in SF and it was a brilliant show!

your list also reminded me: i must get the rakes album. its different than their last album, but has grown on me from the few times ive heard it.
Jay Reatard - Blood Visions (I don't care if this is a 2006 album, it shits on everything put out thus far.)
Well, they are playing with The Ponys pretty soon (poster to come) so that should be a kick ass show.
Amy Winehouse
Justice
Kelly Rowland
Plain White T's
Feist
MIA
MIA isn't even out yet.
Jumping the gun a bit?

I wanted to like that Justice album a lot more than I did. Nothing on it really did anything for me except for the singles I already heard in the last year.

I saw them open for battles at the bc in march.
Didn't think they sounded too great there.

not so much but still realy like:
patrick wolf

what us up with that patrick, crazy guy!
The 2nd half of the M.I.A. is really great. The first half with the exception of "Jimmy," not so much.

i'd hardly call him crazy, he's not your average pop star but his music is fun and interesting and his previous albums have been pretty spectacular.
The new Dirty Projectors is phenominal! I could easily see it in my top 5-10 by year's end.
when does it come out? or available already? im excited about the BC show.

It's out on 9/11.

You'll have a PM in a little while though. ;)

It's really fucking amazing. I'll have to catch that bc show now.
This Magik Markers is a pleasant surprise. Who would've guessed that Elisa had a decent singing voice?
voxtrot - voxtrot
battles - Mirrored
maps - we can create
digitalism - idealism
justice - justice
Motor - Unhuman
Tegan & Sara - the Con
Low - Drums and Guns
the Polyphonic Spree - the Fragile Army
Fujiya & Miyagi - Transparent Things

semi top ten for the year so far for me.
The fact raccoo-oo-oon has on been mentioned once is a travesty.

Also: LCD Soundsystem, Panda Bear, Bloc Party, National.
I listed raccoo-oo-oon.
