Wallace Stevens, Ginsberg, Elizabeth Bishop, Dylan Thomas. I love poetry, I could go on.

Good list; I've been reading Ginsberg, Bukowski, and Ondaatje; any other suggestions?

I'm a big fan of the English Romantics, like William Blake. Occasionally I'm pleasantly surprised, but most contemporary free-verse poetry I've come across is lazy, pretentious crap.

Tupac also wrote some really beautiful, insightful stuff.
