Lollapalooza is back

yeah, other than Radiohead I cant really think of a "headliner" band that i would really care to see….

I am totally hoping for Mudhoney so that perhaps we could start a muddy moshpit like the Lollapalooza of years ago!
Come on. You know you'd be all over Depeche mode.

only if they promised not to play anything after Some Great Reward!
I don't feel like looking this up: How many bands played both Coachella and Lolla last year? (I'm asking because I really want Wolfmother to play Lolla.)
Oh and I'd love to see Depeche Mode. Or New Order! Radiohead goes without saying.

i dont think more than a handful, but seeing as how they have like 50 more bands playing this year, i bet there will be more. Wolfmother would be sweet!

I saw for the last week or so the "SP-RHCP-Flaming Lips as headliners" rumour that I'm sure everyone else has, so I'm thinking with the RHCP confirmation that looks like it's probably true.

Wolfmother were incredible over the weekend. I thought they would be a bit stoner, but they had the craziest energy onstage. Lots of dancing, jumping, twisting, falling, etc. all over the place. I haven't been that excited at a show since Maximo Park last Summer. Awesome. They are definitely a must-see band. I'll send you some pictures, if you like.

Just Announced
i'd definitely consider lollapalooza this year.
last year i got in on the $35/2-day passes, but decided not to go and sold them to a friend.

i've been looking for an excuse to get to chicago this summer (i'm actually going to be there next week for mogwai, but..)…

want to hit up either a cubs or sox game…
and the tut exhibit is there and i am too impatient to wait for it to hit philly next year.
All this talk about the Gorillaz made me think of Blur. They'd be a good headliner for Lolla at some future date/year.
The presale just sold out at $45.
yeah, i just got the email about it and went and saw it was sold out. i didn't even know it was going to be happening today.
i probably wouldn't have bought the tickets anyway, but it caught me a bit off guard.

whew, i musta JUST got in!

$113 for a pair of tickets.
Yeah, with my new job, I can't check my personal email very often, so I missed the presale by 10 mins. For $45, I would have bought a ticket. Oh well! General onsale and lineup announcement will be coming soon.

some good stuff there
wow. thats really awesome. not so big on the headliners, but this is a really solid lineup of bands, better than Coachella. lets see how 8 stages pans out tho.

oh, and thats only 82 of whats said to be 130 bands….
Well DC still has Robbie Fulks playing the Old Dominion Music Festival. At least that's something.
