Actually, I used to go to concerts 3 and 4 times per week, which dwindled down to 1-2 after ticket service charges went out of control a few years ago….then down to once in a while after the baby came along. I was more enthusiastic about music than most of the board members, but if you don't go to concerts it's hard to keep up with what's going on.

And I'm not really an old grump….I just play one on this board. A bit abrupt and to the point maybe, but that's a mancunian thing. Jag can explain better because she totally gets it.

I leave on 24th…it was an obvious weak attempt at humour!

The fish n chips in the Royal Mile suck balls now.
Of course there is, that's my birthday. I'll gladly accept your Mercian in lieu of a party….

I think ticket prices in general are so expensive that the service charge isn't even an issue. Besides, you pretty much have to go to Dublin to see the big bands. On the other side, you might bump into Shane MacGowan, Mike Scott or some other genius having a singalong in a boozer over there on any given night, and Hothouse flowers play at the local pubs regularly. So it's not all bad.

I don't know which is the saddest.

You knowing the song, or me knowing the words after you had reminded me of it.

Who the hell sang that, and how long ago?
