Dirtbombs/Sights Roll Call

Anyone joining me for the show tonight?
Shit…you know, I'm too tired for Baltimore, but I think I'm going to get to the Cat for this.

Am I really missing out if I skip the Dirtbombs and just catch the Sights?
Yes.

If you go, go for the whole show.

Sadly, I can't make it.
Both bands are very good live. You should check out the Dirtbombs if you can. (Any band with two drummers is something to see, I've found.) But if you can't stick around, the Sights alone are worth the price of admission. I'm hoping they have the organ player along this time.
ahhh yes, please go for both bands…the Dirtbombs absolutely tore it up at the Siren Fest this summer…and the Sights are great too.

Alas, I'm typing this during a 10 minute break before I head back into rehearsal…HELL WEEK!

please rock extra hard for me.
ooohhh I would kill to go…but I'm exhausted and I have a class early in the morning…should I do it?? shit, I dunno what to do…
i think i'm going..
You can preview the new album by clicking on the link at the Dirtbombs homepage. (Link is below the picture.) We are definitely in for a great show.
What's your best guess on times for The Sights, then the 'Bombs.
Hmm. 9, 9:45, 10:45pm maybe?
I'm quite afraid of getting home and completely melting into my couch. But I'll give it a shot. If I'm there, I'll be Amoeba girl. ;)
I'm planning on it.

Here's a review from someone who saw the B'more show:

Saw the show last night as I was in Balitmore. Amazing. It was one of the shows that had an encore, which was actually people wanting more, not bands coming back out because there is some kind of historical precedent about leaving and coming back out. Mick Collins owned the stage. Additionally, they have replaced T. Potter, 2nd bassist, with a PoA asian woman. That is obviously always a keen decision. at least for the live shows. Mick Collins cannot be praised enough. He had more energy that a late 90s drunken Bob Pollard. And the highkicks to match.

The Sights opened. Enjoyable. Guitar, drums, organ. Worth seeing. Had some Deep Purple in there, but also some Oblivians. However, watching them I started to think "How young is too young?"
yep I'm going, alone again. anyone wanna meet up?

Great!! They've got the organ this time!
Great show. The Dirtbombs ruled and the Sights weren't far behind. Lots of new stuff from the Dirtbombs which sounded excellent. The Sights look like they're about 19, but play like they have a decade of practice. Only caught the tail-end of the Quails set, but it sounded good.

Three great shows in four days. I'm tired now.
I agree, great show. The Quails didn't do a lot for me, but they were a fine '3rd band on the bill'. The Sights are a good band and going to get better. I thought they were better (though I think it's due to the sound quality) when they played the 9:30 (opening for the Datsuns?), but I'll go see them whenever they play.

Holy cow, the Dirtbombs are great! That show blew me away, and Mick Collins is the rockinest soulman I've seen in a long time. Picked up the new disc and it's fantastic. Very glad I made the trek.
Where are the Sights from?
Detroit Rock City!!!! (note to self: reduce number of exclaimation points when posting on little sleep)

Speaking of the Sights I found out via eMusic that the guitarist also slings for Ko and The Knockouts and The Come-Ons… busy little beaver there.
the sights were AWESOME! I totally enjoyed myself. I didn't stay for the dirtbombs. I was afraid I was going to zonk out in the car. the quails were not very good. but I sooo enjoyed the sights. long haired boys will always have a very special place in my heart ;)
It was indeed a great show. I really enjoyed all three bands. I don’t know how I’ve missed The Quails until now. They are local and play one of my favorite kinds of music –a fast funk punk. Shouty vocals, etc. I bought their album and am impressed.
Next up were the Sights, and I actually think they were my favorite band of the night. I had forgotten just how good the singer’s voice is and how pounding the drums are. Great to hear my favorite songs from their latest album and the new stuff they played shows great promise as well. I was surprised to see that there were only 3 of them. When I saw them before, I think there were 5 guys on stage. I definitely want to see them again –and headlining! That said, I’ve decided that a dream line up (for me) for a show would be the 22-20s, The Sights, and Immortal Lee County Killers II.
The Dirtbombs were as fun as ever. Rockin tunes and a great vibe. I love the sound of the two drummers –especially when they crank it up. From the looks of things, the crowd enjoyed themselves immensely.
I am tired today, though…
