Dandy Warhols roll call

I also really enjoyed this show. For the most part the crowd appeared at the activity level of organ donor. This was very disappointing. Most everyone there stopped even bobbing when anything from "Come Down" was played, like they never heard of that album.

Glad they didn't play Junkie, but was hoping for Hard on for Jesus or Down like Disco.

The people next to my friend and I really were getting into it too, and we had a really good spot up against a bar so we just jumped around and tried to ignore the low energy level.

The frontman for the Out Crowd was in BJM and it was kind of like BJM without the fights. I enjoyed the Out Crowd and they were a pretty tight band.

At a lot of shows I've been to down here, the artist seems to pick up on the crowd's lack of enthusiasm and it shows in their performance.

Last night the Warhols kept going for a full 2 hours and the mellow stuff gave me a break to swig my beer and chill out before some of the faster tracks.

And they're nice folks too. Here's a story from th Atlanta show that probably made a B/day even better.From the BJM board, of all places :D i saw the show friday night in atlanta…both bands were great…all of
my band and our girlfriends/wives went and also our guitar player's son
whose 13th birthday was that day…matt hollywood hung out and watched
the dandys with us and was really cool…hadn't met him before…he
gave my friends son a cd and had the rest of the band and himself sign
it and wish him happy birthday…his keyboardist/tamborine player,
sarah jane, was also really nice…then during the dandy's show,
christian ( friend's son) got to sit on the stage right in front of
peter…afterwards he gave christian the pick he was using plus the set
list…then made a special trip backstage to get everyone to sign it
for him…peter has been super cool and nice every time i've met him,
and more importantly, he and the outcrowd made christians birthday
about as perfect as it could've been…he's been playing guitar for
about two years now and can play a bunch of their songs, so him meeting
peter and matt, and having them be so cool and going out of their way
to make his night great meant a lot to all of us…and surely made it a
night that christian will never forget…so thanks to those
people…and once again the show kicked ass!

Nice to see it isn't always ego and pretension. I'm sure that will leave quite a memory for the birthday boy.

Yeah I was lobbying loud for Hard On For Jesus, Courtney heard me and said he forgot the cords ..? I also had a good spot down below near the bar. I think they were charging me $15 a piece for Yeager bombs. :roll:

Seriously? $15 for a two, or for a single? Wow.

I was getting a miller lite and a yeager bomb, gave her a twenty, got a buck back.. guess she charged me for looking at her top. :D

Anyone seeing Depeche Mode/Bravery in Fairfax? Coldplay at the MCI Center? Good times. :cool:

Zia mentioned the Dandy's TV Theme Song – which would have been great to hear.

Spelling is not a prerequisite for consumption.
Besides, you can't spell football and that doesn't seem to be stopping you. :p

well better late than never. didnt see the dandys in dc, but saw them earlier in SF. if you can see them in portland, you should definitely see them. SF is a whole different crowd than DC. great crowd, lots of dancing, courtney & company clearly were having a good time. they played grunge betty, but no rave-up. it was a pretty normal set list, minus the encore, which never happened. instead we got zia dancing, while courtney was doing some rap improv. it was quite funny. off the top of my head, played were ride, grunge betty, boho, junkie, get off, new new country (very slow), holding me up, hells bells, and im sure other stuff i cant think of at the moment.

the outcrowd were very much worth seeing. they were beyond happy to be playing at the fillmore. the crowd was really into them. the band was hanging out in the crowd while the dandys played. met sarah jane who is quite lovely. she gave me a big hug and kiss. :D

anyway for me, it was one of the best dandys show i had ever seen. :D didnt care for their last DC show, but really loved their nyc show. this tour only caught sf so far but was beyond impressed. well worth checking them out in their hometown, but it seems its surely going to be sold out if its not already.

it probably helped that i got to see courtney and fathead play an acoustic show earlier in the day, thanks to a dj friend at live 105. then got to meet fathead and got pics etc. so my day was already top-notch before the show even began. and besides theres nothing like the folks of SF. so friendly!

went to the last show of the tour here in portland, far better than the show in dc a couple of years ago, similar setlist to the one posted above, add Horse Pills

there sure was a lot of smoking going on for a nonsmoking venue, and it smelled yummy
