is layne staley still dead?

i was just wondering…………………..
which one was he again? The lead singer or the guitar player?
i just was also wondering about radioheads melodies……………….no i guess they are dead too……….
Their $2 show is on MTV2 this weekend, just in time to remind me how much I miss the old radiohead before I see them in a couple weeks. I hope Supergrass are good!
:(
Mankie,

Stay out of our thread. This is for Lulu and Smackie.

Lulu, did you see The Who video for Substitute with Kelly Jones? Other than sounding British, he's pretty good. How come that guy gets to cover songs with all of the Brit greats of the 70's?
i haven't seen that video……………..dammit where did you see it? mtv2?

and the answer to question 2 is because he is our generations rod stewart………………well that and he's hot

VH1 Classic - I wanted to remember what it was like to hear Don Henley sing Boys of Summer.

I'll see if I can't find it on the net (now that you guys have DSL). Apparently is was included as a video on a Who trubute album that sucked.

Smackette couldn't agree more on him being hot. She's all creamy about seeing him this weekend. Ewwww.

The worst.

No luck on the video, but I was pissed to discover that the Virgin Megastore SF got passed up by the Stereophonics for their acoustic tour!
i think it's a little odd that stereophonics are in america and doing instore performances at virgin anyway…………

instores always smack of sad and desperate to me……….something they are definatly not
artists I have seen do instores:

Lyle Lovett
Cracker
Rhett Miller
Evan Dando
Keb Mo
G Love and Special Sauce
Alejandro Escovedo
Whiskeytown

None of them were sad or desperate…

Tough sadly nobody showed up but me for Alejandro's set at DCCD, though he sells out Iota.

.
what exactly was your point again?

oh yeah none of those are sad or desperate they are all sad AND desperate……………….good one rhett……..
Lyle Lovett is a god and should be honored as such.

:)
bags are you julia roberts?

or have you received a sharp blow to your head too?
Evan Dando's hair is sad & desperate, that's enough
Lyle Lovett tickets go for anywheres up to 75 bucks, depending on where he is playing. And he typically plays large venues like Wolftrap. Thus, he is not sad and desperate. Neither are those who can afford his show, and neither are those of us who were smart enough to see him at Borders a few years ago.

Like I'm sure you've listened to a lot of his music….hmmm, maybe his music is good for a car ride or two…
Sure. I am sure Pyle Lovless is really talented……..

I don't go for fancy cars
For diamond rings
Or movie stars
I go for penguins
Oh Lord I go for penguins

Throw your money out the door
We'll just sit around
And watch it snow
I go for penguins
Oh Lord I go for penguins

Penguins are so sensitive
Penguins are so sensitive
Penguins are so sensitive
To my needs

Penguins are so sensitive
Penguins are so sensitive
Penguins are so sensitive
To my needs
To my needs
To my needs
To my needs

Penguins are so sensitive
Penguins are so sensitive
Penguins are so sensitive
To my needs
To my needs
To my needs

To my needs
To my needs
To my needs
To my needs
To my needs

To my needs
To my needs

Those lyrics are sooo deep. I can just imagine you getting your better half to wear a penguin suit and waddle about so you can sing it to her.
My wife in a penguin suit…hmmm, now there's something we haven't tried yet. I'm liking that idea already…well she is very sensitive…
Lyle is brilliant. That dry nonsense is so enjoyable. He mixes songs that are fun, crazy, sensitive, important, silly and heartfelt. And they're all beautifully executed. A Lyle Lovett concert is truly a thrill.

No sharp objects to the head, just great appreciation for someone at the top of his particular field, even though it's not my normal field.
