9:30 Club = Studio 54???

OK, here is a good Friday topic. Everybody spill you guts. Who on the board has had a one nightstand, short or long term relationship with someone they met at the club.

You can also include stories about breaking up with your significant other at the club too.

Extra points for those of you who hooked up with a board member.

Oh yeah, include who was playing that night.

Personally I've hooked up once with someone I met at the club.

I hooked up once with someone at the old club on F Street. But just kissing in the street….(well, on the sidewalk, but outside of the club). I have no recollection of what show it was.

Oh, I did sleep with a co-worker from out of town whom I brought to the club to see the Gear Daddies. The hookup definitely occured 'cuz I took him out on the town after dinner with my boss. Again, old club.

Need I disclose the torrid details of my winter fling with Kurosawa?

Never. But I was never one to "hook up" for one night stands anyway.

I did briefly date someone I met at the Black Cat until I found out she was a Republican. Then I wore my bright red mesh fire safety monitor hat on one of our dates to make sure to sufficiently scare her away. Oh, and there was a second woman I dated who I met there as well. So Black Cat was more successful for me. It's really more of a hangout place then 9:30 is.

I'm under the assumption that any woman that talks to me is hitting on me. Keep that in mind ladies.

A gentleman should never kiss and tell. But back in the days when hooking up was something I actually did, the Black Cat was far more productive than the 930.

This board sure knows how to get crazy.

boards in general are places of unrestrained craziness.

Whenever a woman would hit on me back in the day, I was always too dense and lacking in self-confidence to realize it.

I think I've mentioned this before. Only action I've got was at the Concrete Blonde concert when some blonde chick came up to me and just starting making out with me, of course I didnt push her away. She was trying to make someone jealous. I doubt it worked though, but it made a horrible concert a little better. I dont think she was a board member and even if she was, she probably wouldnt admit it.

I sorta met Clovette at the club. We worked in the same office, but never talked or knew each other. She saw me at a show, and came up to talk to me about it the next day. She was thinking platonic, but I fixed her. Two years later, the rest is history.

i actually broke up with someone at the club. it was at the wilco show. we were on the rocks anyway, and i had moved out, but he didn't quite get that moving out meant over. so i had to tell him… just before wilco went on. it was hard, he is a nice guy, and i'm still friends with him.

What a way… what a way. Talk about a memorable show.
