Hurricane Busting

Alright ya'll, it's time to kick this bitch out of town! She's due here Thursday and some of us want to see Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. It's bad enough that we got screwed over and skipped with their recent "Intimate Tour". I'd cry about their scheduled appearance at the HFStival being cancelled but that wouldn't be worth it. Let's start kicking this bitch's ass now! Rhett, you too! After all, you want to make that long haul up to Baltimore for the Pernice Bros..

 )
i hope rhett will be leading the pack of wind blowing. he is full of the most wind. ever. :p
Back the bitch up…
Back the bitch up…
Back the bitch up…
Back the bitch up…
Back the bitch up…

We must get this done! I wanna see BRMC, and I wanna have a good weekend at my family reunion in Connecticut (with outdoor activities so we're not all cooped up for that many hours in a row!).
Sorry, i'm not seeing anyone Thursday and since i dont want to come to work Thursday and Friday i say "Let the bitch come"…….hmmmmm kinda like the sound of that.
Ok, let say there is heavy rain and wind. What are the chances of the show still going on?

The wind and rain can't be as bad as the snow storm for the Ladytron show. And they still went on.
Did you guys here that the hurricane was originally called "Isabelle" but Bush made them change it to "Isabel" in order to de-French the name?

They're thinking it might still be too French, and want to make it sound more like an American female. Thus, they may change it to Hurricane Isabitch.
you may be right. They learn thier lesson with French names:

HUGO
Oh, it's just a little wind and rain from a catagory 2 storm. ;)

I think the show will go on with very little problems.
Cheers!
Let relive the 80's. We will all have the "wet look"!

Yes another stupid joke. I have lots of them.

I agree. Too much pre-storm hype.

It will go on. The only catch is that BRMC are coming up from a show the night before in N.C..

The real bitch is that some of us have very long drives. That's the only part that I'm very worried about.

I shouldn't be though. I have a long history of chasing hurricanes out of town. Die bitch!!! Die!!!
Good thing I just got new windshield wiper blades. They could be put to the test.

Sometimes I would go for years without changing those things. I'd have to pull over and wait it out when a rainstorm came.

Metro Expects Systemwide Shutdown During Storm

Associated Press
Wednesday, September 17, 2003; 3:55 PM

Metro officials expect to shut the entire subway and bus system at some point tomorrow in Washington, Virginia and Maryland.

Spokeswoman Lisa Farbstein tells the Associated Press that based on information from the National Weather Service, and following a conference call with local government officials, it is "likely" that all service will be stopped.

Farbstein said that riders would have a a minimum of two hours' advance notice. She said it's too early to say when a closure would happen, but warned that it could occur as early as tonight.

Metro said the closure would come if Hurricane Isabel brings sustained winds topping 40 miles per hour.

Initially the transit agency planned to continue underground service, but Farbstein said officials decided it would be easier to explain a systemwide shutdown, rather than a partial shutdown.

Metro will run MetroAccess, the paratransit service for the disabled, but will restrict service to medical runs only.

I was in one in South Carolina in the 80s, but it was a small one.

I am having a hard time understanding the freaking out as well, but there may be a lot of flooded basement apartments in the city and a lot of trees down.
