Can anyone recommend good bars or inexpensive restaurants within walking distance of DAR?

I like Nirvana, vegetarian Indian, at K and 18th.

THey have a sushi place by Farragut West metro.

almost missed this thread… my (former) favorite pre-DAR destination: Off The Record, the bar under the Hay-Adams hotel, 16th & H. http://www.hayadams.com/washington-dc-bars.php

excellent bartender, ask for any "classic" drink (tom collins, dirty martini, highball, whiskey sour, etc).
