The majority of the Inauguration is paid for with private donations. It's one of the few times where there is no limit to how much a corporation can give a political figure. So yes, these folks are buying time with the elected officials, and it's been going on for years.

It's probably illegal under the new "Patriot's Act" to burn stetsons, so I'll end up in Guantanamo Bay Military prison, where I'll be forced to wear a cowboy hat, eat fried pork rinds, and work in the prison print shop, making Pro-Life and Anti-Gay-Marriage placards for Extremist Christian Republican rallies.
