WRQX 107.3 presents
The Last Goodnight <img src="

http://www.myspace.com/thelastgoodnight "After they graduated and went off to college in 2003, they independently pressed two releases under the moniker Renata and started receiving airplay. In typical band fashion, they bought a van and embarked on short tours on nights and weekends, eventually earning opening slots for LIfehouse and Avril Lavigne. After a name change, a gig at the famous Whisky A Go Go in L.A. caught the attention of producer Jeff Blue, who took them into the studio to start recording and fine-tuning their sound. In 2007, Virgin signed the Last Goodnight and released their debut, Poison Kiss, in August of that year."

Do bands even make their own websites anymore? =/ or do they rely on the drivel that is now myspace?
(with that said, I adore HBA.)

If you're gonna keep pimping shows like this, you might want to include the date.

if you're marketing to the LCD, you don't need to waste your time doing anything but a myspace page anymore.
why make a webpage for people with 3 second attention spans?

of how silly me, the date of this stellar show is WEDNESDAY APRIL 9
and to -kat-, yes, most artists do both. Myspace however is one click directly to hear the music of that said artist.

Except on those computers that myspace doesn't play the player - like mine - due to the massive amounts of easy spyware and malware inserted…
I'm just saying if they have a normal website, it's worth linking that. Myspace is a horrendous way to get your music heard. I have blocked more bands for spamming me on there than listened to them. If they want me to listen, they'll have their own website that doesn't take 4 minutes to load one page, or better yet have a demo CD available to listen to from another show … etc…
of course, I'm old fashioned, and actually BUY my music.. but I have since some of HBA was in Tilae Linden. ;)

hey showstopper, have you noticed that NO ONE else pimps shows via self-important e-flyer threads? ever considered announcing them in "Just Announced", like everyone else? that's where people look for info on shows. these threads of yours seem… cheap and desperate. if i was the management of the 930, i'd be worried about people thinking that full-page announcements here imply endorsement or participation by the club.
and those lame press-pack pictures barely worthy of the bands myspace pages… please stop it.

You know, if this was the now-defunct HFStival.com, I would've started deleting this kid's threads by now, if not banned him. Then again, I was the kind of administrator who gave a shit if my community went to hell in a handbasket.

Jesus christ, you make those of us that actually wear pigtails, schoolgirl skirts, and actually fucking promote bands, (and work with them, not on them) look bad…………..
I'd consider coming to the show to throw you outside and show you how to fucking promote. It's called: Feet, Hands, a smile, and a flyer.
BTW, how was it? or will you bother coming and reading the replies to the thread?

i have a feeling this person attends only half the shows he/she promotes. he seems to use a template, pre-fab press releases, and his "promos" have all the heart and soul of tying one's shoes.
showstopper: please start you own perma-thread, and post all your street-teaming there (and only there). maybe make 3- to 4-line announcements in Just Announced and link back to your e-flyer in the perma-thread.

the short answer is that it would be common courtesy for showstopper to use a single thread to promote shows at the Rock and Roll Hotel, seeing as others seem to doing that just fine…
