There is no way you are a chick.

Seriously, this is the best episode of e-Punk'd ever and is bound to be my biggest embarrassment of all time. You guys are all doing a wonderful job too.
I'll admit to being a little behind in Mario Kart…I hated the GameCube version, and never got into the DS. But on Nintendo 64, I was unstoppable. God I loved that game.

*sigh*
Man, if you own Contra I'm inviting myself over to play. I'll never, ever, for as long as I live, forget the code to 30 extra man. It's ingrained in my head like the names of the aliens in the Mos Eisley cantina.

any word on MS discounting the 360 to respond to the PS3 cuts?

i'm considering getting a 360, but i'm going to give this setup a shot:

i'm going to move my desktop PC into the living room, get a long DVI–>HDMI cable and wireless keyboard / mouse / game controllers … i'd use it kind of as a mini-HTPC, but mostly just for playing PC games on the big-screen

does anyone have much experience doing this? any recommendations for hooking up my sound card to my stereo? i have a headphone–>RCA adapter that i use for my laptop/ipod, but i'd think there would be something a little more substantial for a good 7.1 soundcard to a decent receiver.

i like playing games on PC because I usually play sports games and there are some seriously devoted modder communities who update rosters and whatnot on a regular basis for the PC-versions of games I play, but not the console versions

ugh. like 10 years ago my dad gave away all my nintendo cartridges but like three to my little cousin. i was so pissed… all i have left is like tmnt 1/2, casino kid, mario and like sk8 or die.

slowly, ive been collecting them again over time. but since i moved up here and got a wii for christmas, i haven't really been actively searching for them as much. so no contra, sorry. but if i find it or you manage to… you are welcome to play.

Since you're the only other guy in the world who will care about this story, I'll share it with you. I was doing some beta testing for DirecTV and one of the things they were beta testing is a GameLounge channel. Beta testers had to enter a special code to unlock the channel:

UP UP DOWN DOWN LEFT RIGHT LEFT RIGHT RED GREEN RED GREEN

And then press enter.

Unfortunately, the GameLounge sucked, mostly because the games were as old as the code, but I still enjoyed the nostalgia. I can't remember what I had for breakfast this morning, but UP UP DOWN DOWN LEFT RIGHT LEFT RIGHT A B A B START is a possibility for my born's middle name.

Nice. I used to love 2-hour late days back in the public school days. I'd head to the bus stop (at my best friend's house) usually around 15 minutes before the bus came, we'd fire up Contra, enter the code, and blow through the entire game with usually about a minute or so to spare. Somehow, even after beating it upwards of 300 times (no joke), I could still play that game another 300.

I use a 25 foot RGB cable with a stereo plug and a video switch in to the back of my plasma (which has a monitor input) with a wireless mouse and keyboard (though I don't play computer games).

The problem with sound cards is they are limited in their outputs. Whichever outputs they have are what you can input into your stereo or TV.

I'll be hooking up my first HD Wireless MediaLounge player in a couple weeks. I'll let you know how that goes.
Which is further proof that any band named after something cool from our childhood but also retro/ironically popular now is shite.

This is an Ataris song, actually. But they screwed up the code.

ATARIS LYRICS

"Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, Start"

today was a good day.
I didn't even have to use my a.k.
at least I didn't get my heart broken anyway
wasting time in east new jersey.
guess I could tell you 'bout
the snow covered rooftops,
sunsets, shooting stars and picturesque backdrops.
or how I went and hung out at quick-stop
and pretended that I was in clerks.

sometimes you gotta stop and remember
that your not gonna live forever.
be young, think smart, stay true
and just follow your heart.

remember the times we watched "karate kid"
and memorized every line
skipped school and went to the arcade
hung out and played galaga all day.
stole a car and we drove to michigan.
600 miles with no destination.
except to get in the car and drive
and see where we'll end up.

sometimes you gotta stop and remember.
that your not gonna be young forever.
think smart, have fun, stay true
and don't ever grow up.

out of all I've learned in life
you always keep your friends close to your heart.
'cause who will help you if you're falling down.

and everything is o.k.

I will be FAR more impressed if you can tell me that you were able to beat Contra with just 3 men. I think that feat got me in the pages of Nintendo Power in my youth . . . . .

*pumps Tiger Woods victory fist*

YES! :D

i never made it into nintendo power, but i used to consistently be able to beat contra without dying.
I used to be a Big Man on heat.net's Quake 2 deathmatch forums. It's shameful how proud I was every time I racked up 100 kills in maingate4. All I needed was a super shotgun and I could take down anyone, anytime. I got more props, respect and love from my Q2 brethren than I ever got from work or family.
