why, to the three dollar and twenty-five cent degree?

this is a simple question, in which i'm sure the lords have tossed around countless occasions in here, and domination spewed my suffering but i wasn't there, so i need it repeated . . . man. i ordered a ticket for an upcoming show and had it to be picked up at will call–something i've never done at nine thirty, aka, nine dirty, as in "what a dirty trick to do." they had charged me money for shipping, as if to say, hey dude, we're pissed that we can't charge you shipping, so we'll charge you for shipping instead. shipping for what? shipping of more my money your way? it's not that i really care about the amount of the three,twenty-five, but some priciple leads me to believe that said amount will increase one day, in hopes that most don't pay attention.
raise the price of beer in there would, i guess, start a riot, so perhaps that fee was the easiest to suffice what need you need the money for. tuff times in the inner city, i guess, said fooffy-foo to fighting the power. but i don't mind, because the club is nice and plays bands that other joints wouldn't dare to touch at prices that are cheap as a comparible. i was just curious about the shipping thing.
see ya around, h.t. do not believe in the people who do not know you; they become all the same with their opinions.

it's just a mater of semantics really
it's a handling charge, not necessarily shipping
whateverâ?¦it's what they charge to sell our tix

if you just made all shows free (with no service charges), no one would complain (assuming they could get in).

Listen, ticketbastard is a monopoly that rips folk off to no end, while the clubs, bands, sports teams and all others who use them idly sit by and let it happen, because like ticketbastard, don't give a toss about the customer as long as they're getting their cut. That's life.
As long as we are prepared to get ripped off and keep buying tickets it will not change, unless we can get organized and just stop buying tickets on principal, they have no reason to stop shafting us.
I just wish they'd stop with the creative names like "handling" "convenience" "shipping" and all that bollocks. Let's at least call a spade a spade and call it for what it is.
A "FUCK THE PUNTER" FEE!
I recently bypassed ticketwankers and went straight to the concert venue for tickets……and paid FACE VALUE for the tickets, not even a $1 service charge……Seth??? ;)

No, don't go there – don't complain about the $1 box office charge! It is money so well spent, allowing the club to keep the box office open and staffed noon to 7:00 every day. Black Cat charges nothing, but man is it a pain to get tickets there.

I'd be willing to bet real money that some people would still complain.

No question – about the smoke, the sound, the set times, the security guy who gave me a mean look, the young crowd, FANS OF DC101 OH SHIT, those damn show screamers and talkers, the lack of a VIP section, the need to get our free tickets ahead of time – like through a pre-sale or something because we're big fans of the band/the club….OH so many complaints to be had for the free 9:30 Club.

Yeah, you would moan about the homeless people spilling drinks on you upturned collar polo shirt. The spills from which end up causing your flip flops to go mouldy.

actually, last time i got a stamp at a show, my hand broke out in a nasty rash. i think it was a black cat show but the whole idea of a communal hand stamp is pretty unsanitary if you think about it.

one show i went to i handed my ID and they still gave me one of the <21 stamps and then were like 'oops'. it's more about not having the ink on your hands for ages than being able to by a drink for me.

Nail polish remover also works. One fun thing is when someone knows its a 9:30 club stamp and asks how the show was. I did that yesterday, noting that a colleague had obviously gone to the Futureheads.

My wife had the misfortune of forgetting her ID at a Great Big Sea show…on St Patricks Day. She got the humungous under-21 stamp but thankfully the lovely staph knows our ugly mugs all too well. After the bartender talked to That Guy, all my wife had to do was scrub off the stamp in the washroom and she was allowed to drink.
I still think that I should get the damn club stamp tatoo'd on my the back of my hand, considering how often we're at the club.

if i was either:
a) a responsible adult
or
b) an itinerant penniless drunk
i would have a supply of rubbing alcohol in my place. unfortunately i fall somewhere in between those two categories.
and even more unfortunately, i still have blue hands.
