So what's a white guy to do for NYE this year? Versus isn't playing in New York this year so it looks like I'll be staying local. Does anyone know anything about the Taxidermy Lodge thing at Sonar or anything else going on? Hmmmmmmmmmm!
New Year's Eve events?
Brothers past are playing at the TLA in Philly if you're into the improvised electronic music thing. That's where i'd really like to go if i can score a ride up.
I'll be watching a DVD.
I'll be asleep.
I'll be working :-(..someone has to keep the streets safe!!!

should be fun, me and the woman are 99% going….unless i can find 2 cheap flights to Key West, FL. :)
sonar.us will have more details probably in a week or two.

its a great club though, nice and roomy, great sound and the crowd is the friendliest in Bmoreland.

i'm going to the flaming lips / wilco in nyc.
it promises to be much better than the flaming lips / white stripes in chicago last year.

seems really cool, but i dont know about spending NYE in one seat all night.
Here is the link
So, I found this…. $15 cant be beat.
Looks like its going to be mostly electronic/dance music in the Warehouse/Concert Hall which holds about 500 people. The "Club" looks to be a bit of a hodge-podge…..dance/80s/indie what not, and the lounge looks to be more 80s/funk/silly party music.
the place holds over 1000 and i am now kicking myself in the ass for ending employment with the club when they moved to thier bigger venue…..

Originally posted by sonickteam2:i would assume that it's just a normal show with wilco playing when the new year starts. i wouldn't be doing anything interesting if i weren't going to this show, so sitting in a seat (or standing) and watching a show really isn't a big deal to me.

New Year's Eve bites.

it was cool going to NYC for the year 2000 and watching people from all over the world when 12am hit for them.
12am, stop for 3 seconds, make sure the world didnt end, start celebrating…..good stuff
at Times Square we were back on 47th St and about 30 seconds after the ball dropped, fireworks began erupting from Central Park….3 noisemakers started it off and when they sounded, 2 million people gasped…like "shit, they were right, we're all gonna die" and then they saw the pretty colors and all was well….
I must say, NYE is my favorite holiday by far. For many years I hosted parties at bars around town (the Julio's at 16th and U, Townhouse Tavern, etc.). I always have a good time – it's something everyone celebrates, there's no pressure to go to some family event with disfuntional relatives, you can make it big or small, dressy or messy. LOVE it.
