Silverchair was awesome

<THREADJACK>Everytime someone mentions that band I'm always reminded of the "Blind Date" show they did here in the mid-90s. They did a series of these shows around the country where a "big" band band would play in a club. Other cities got Foo Fighters, Pumpkins, Hole, etc.. and we were stuck with the aforementioned crap. I've always wondered if the real act backed out at the last second and this was the only ringer they could find.

I don't know if Seth slums around in these other threads, but I wonder if someone from the club can give the real story on this.</THREADJACK>
haha, yeah. It's like when Dre was with the World Wide Wrecking Crew or when Pantera were Glam. I give her a pass.

No, I'm equating "dedication" with "he's a fucking douche bag anyway, so he should listen to shitty music."

The show was great except for the fact that they played nothing, not one note from the FROGSTOMP Album. I looked online for setlists to past shows but had no luck. They played 4 old school songs off of the Freak Show album. All in all a great show, Daniel had an eye patch on because he plays the guitar with his teeth and apparently something broke and gave him a black eye.
In review: No Israel's Son, No Tomorrow, No Pure Massacre. It was new material from Young Modern and Diorama. Great show but disappointed.
OLD songs Played from first two albums:
Emotion Sickness
Open Fire (Ana's Song)
The Door
Freak (closer)
I'm surprised anyone wanted to hear Frogstomp shit. They wrote that album when they were 14 or 15 and are now 28.

That album is shit anyway. All the same freaking key.

I was happy to hear the mix of the new stuff and some of the old stuff. Even if you don't even like the new stuff, you can't argue that Daniel Johns is not an excellent stage performer. The giant panties thrown up on stage? The strategically placed fan that wanted to hear Mind Reader(seriously, that pissed me off). The hat. The eyepatch. The playing the guitar with his teeth.

Great show. I wish I could have seen them during their Neon Ballroom tour
Do most males who are Tori Amos fans have feminist bumper stickers on their cars?

The Neon Ballroom tour was amazing. It totally blew last nights show away, and I have said last night was great but neon, simply amazing. It is weird to see a band not play their biggest hit that being Tomorrow. They still play that song on the radio. It reminds me of Radiohead for the longest time they did not play Creep and maybe they still do not play it.
I guess I was hoping to have a rocking time and leave with my ears ringing, but that did not happen.

Tori Amos an icon? I think not. If you want to talk about talented musician/performer look no further than ENYA. CORNFLAKE girl has nothing on THE MEMORY OF TREES. I put Tori at the bottom on the list. I would rather listen to Lindsay Lohan's CD than her cd(s).
Second, how the hell did Tori come into a Silverchair page.
If RustyOrgan is a feminist, then I'm a card-carrying Klan member.

Consider the source . . .

Man, do you think they actually have membership cards in the Klan?

One time, while playing Capture the Flag in the dark (dude, I grew up in Eldersburg…it might be a great place to live, but there ain't shit to do), I was hiding out behind some trees when a pick-up truck drove up the desolate road we were on. It parked right next to me, but I was hidden, so I stayed put, only to see the driver get out, go to the back of the truck, and put on his Klan robes. That was a bit of a mindfuck.

PS: Director, did you see my post in the "Roll Call: Next Week" thread? At the Rock N Roll Hotel the other night, I saw your female twin. Black as night, wearing dark-ass shades in doors and rocking out. No triple-fisting, though. Do you have an identical twin out there???

One time years ago we came back to my girlfriend's car in Richmond to find that the Klan has left some recruting pamphlets on her windshield.

But no membership card info to fill out.
Hey, was Natalie Imbruglia there? I wonder if she was torn between standing in the balcony or standing off stage.

Brian
1) The shades I wear at night tend to be clear/transparent. Whatever coordinates with my outfit. Dark shades during the day mostly, unless of course it doesn't match.

2) If she was my female twin, that must be one sexy chick.

3) I'm not all that dark-skinned. But on the flipside of that, we're all black when the lights go out.

No homo. :D

Hmmm, maybe it as the dark conditions in the club and the contrast of you standing next to all us pale honkies.
