I haven't been to the Black Cat in a while; any body know when Wolfmother comes on?
Wolfmother Roll Call
Anyone know if they are cool with press people? A friend of mine is doing a story for the National Journal and needs to snap a few photos inside the venue. Do you think that they'd be OK with that?
anyone have an extra ticket?
Anyone have an in or some way to get one of the awesome posters that sold out way before the band even went on?
My bad – I saw it on the wall in the club a couple weeks ago and loved it, but forgot the website listed on the botton. when I got there at 10:00, bitch was sold out!!!!!!

I snared one early and had them set it aside for later pickup.
I was impressed Not too many young bands can pull off a full 75 minute set on one album. They did get a bit self indulgent a couple time, but it was hot and I was weary..

well, they may have gotten a bit self indulgent, but they also could have walked off at 55 or 60 minutes flat and left the crowd asking for more. either way, man, what a fucking band.
Excellent show. No complaints. Wolfmother rocked!
ok calling it self indulgent is too harsh… there were a couple times when i thought the vamping got a bit tedious, which i think will improve over time… definite room for improvement on the guitar soloing front. a solid band i wont hesitate seeing again live if only because the rhythm section rocks!
anyone else think the keyboard break in "mind's eye" sounds like it could have come off a styx or kansas record?

Enjoyed the show, they're super fun, but I was exhausted after a couple of insane days at work…
It was really crazy down in front. That was the best show I've seen from them, and that's saying something! Loved every minute!
Oh and they added Vagabond to the setlist at the last minute.

I thought it was VERY solid…they'll just continue to get bigger if they play their cards right. There's a demand for music like this, especially for anyone who missed out 70's rock.
My wife couldn't believe that you boardies are falling for this band.
But then again, some of you like Foo Fighters. ;)

and some of us like Kylie Minogue also, so whats your point…
Was it the best show I've ever seen? No, but for 15 bucks to see a band put their heart and soul into their music (even if it is derivative) is a heck of a lot more entertaining than staring at TV or computer screen. Some of us went, had a great time, saw our friends and had a couple of beers with them. Those of us who were a bit skeptical were pleasantly surprised.
I also thought Wolfmother were great.
If I had a dollar for every Zeppelin shirt I saw last night…..well…..then, I'd have 5 or 6 dollars.
It was funny to see so many devils horns and episodic head banging from the usual Washington crowd. Clearly the rock is back. The dudes in front of me were even playing air guitar when they weren't clinking their beer bottles and wooting. You can't play air guitar to Death Cab.

i totally agree with bearman and playing spot the influence is half the fun for a band like wolfmother… a little who, a lotta zep, elp, cream, etc…
those drive-by truckers have the oh so unique sound

He also said one guy bought a whole bunch from him and they'll probably show up on eBay at the end of the week.
Thanks GGW…that ebay shit pisses me off. I'd love one for $20, but not $50. I have too many good posters already…
Death Cab is so last month when it comes to MTV airplay. Let's get a pool going as to when these guys will make their O.C. debut.
