Would more like to know why and what have you heard from some of these you don't like. Sometimes you get the wrong album and hate a band for quite a while until you hear that one song that does work.

For me:

Mars Volta - The singing, can not get over that singing.
Dispatch - Saw them live and they couldn't play. It was sad.

Well I know the singing on Wilco's A.M. turned me off the band from the get go… From what little I've heard of CYHSY it's the singing as well..
