Bands that at one point or another have just blown

OK, so bands that you were maybe very excited about seeing, bands that everyone else said was great or bands that just had really bad nights in your presence.

I'll start:

Psychedelic Furs at HFStival 2006 (i think it was 2006)

man, i was so excited to see them, and poof!!! gone.
Butthole Surfers post-Independent Worm Saloon.
Modest Mouse. Several times.

Apples in Stereo (many years ago) - 3/4 of the room left.

Gene
rhcp circa 1999 or 2000ish - worst show i've ever seen. period.
You're going to start signing your name like Brian does? I thought your name was Joe, not Gene.

Tears for Fears - 1984 or 1985, my first concert ever and probably the worst ever

i was really looking forward to these shows. i'm not a quitter, but i wish i was: i stuck them out hoping they would get better, but ended up being a waste of an evening. sia fronting zero seven also gets a dishonorable mention, luckily the other singers made up for her and it was still a great show.

i thought the raconteurs @ vfest were pretty dreadful (we walked away), but they've since gelled as a band. they were brilliant opening for dylan. looking forward to next month's show.

and speaking of vfest, i thought that CYHSY was also unlistenable.
Off the top of my head:

Calexico (no stage presence whatsoever)

New Pornographers (dork music for dork people)

Belle and Sebastian (just way too fucking femme-y)_

the Decemberists (first time they were sort of ok, but by the second time, the novelty was gone, and they really blew)

Dean and Britta (lifeless victims of anorexia)

Bonnie Prince Billy (who let this guy out of his parent's basement?)

Common (actually, I can't think of a single rap show I've been to that didn't blow, I just need more than someone singing/rapping over prerecorded music to satisfy my LIVE music wants.)

Probably many more, I tend to forget the bad shows.
At the show with Rollins Band and Riverboat Gamblers, I thought X was just terrible (Exene seemed to not give a shit at all). And I'd seen their show the year before with the Fags, and they were great, so the Rollins show was just a bad night.

I've never really enjoyed a My Morning Jacket show, but the one after Kokonos came out was especially disappointing. Starting an encore with THREE slow songs in a row is just bad pacing, period. And I've found that all of their shows had too much of Jim Jones AAAAAHHH-ing in his angelic croon while… very little else was happening.

Couldnt get into it, never got into them, really uncomfortable in the club that night for some reason.

She Wants Revenge @ 930
I was long since over them and I think the club was just too big for them.
Cornershop. Saw them once at the club and it was dreadful. Tjinder was possibly the most painful front-man I've ever had the misfortune of watching.
Worse than Mr. Honeydrips?

Showed up after he went off.

Seriously, ask econo about Cornershop. He was there with me.

Smashing Pumpkins in 1994, pre-therapy for Billy. He did not sing half the songs, walked off stage after 40 minutes, and played horribly. Just awful. My worst concert ever.
Every Dylan show Ive been to post 2001 (4 or 5)..I just keep going back and I dont know why..

I saw Cornershop at the old Bohargers circa 1997 and man they stunk it up. The singer seemed wasted. although, now that i think about it, i Saw JAMC there too and Jim was too wasted to even finish the set, he just broke some stuff and eventually left (after about a 40 minute set). Funny thing was they played without him for another 20 minutes. so that didnt blow.
Soundgarden, both times I've seen them live, once at Lalapalooza and once at A.U. Bender Arena, have been really awful. Chris Cornell's voice was terrible both times. Sucks cause I really like Soundgarden and think Cornell has a great rock voice.

I actually thought X were pretty good that night (not amazing mind you but not terrible IMO) but the crowd DEFINITELY sucked as far as enthusiasm level which in turn probably didn't help to prompt any spectacular performances from the band.
Notable bands artists where I've hit the door (or went elsewhere to wait for the next band) in less than 5 minutes of them hitting the stage because of the aural shit that leapt out of the speakers:

off the top of my head, I'm sure there were more but I honestly try to forget about that shit haha…
C.O.C.
Peter Murphy
Pantera
Sisters of Mercy
L.A. Guns

Was the Bender arena show the one where someone in the audience pissed of Ben Shepherd and at the end he just walked off?
