i'm still feeling my ears from last night's VHS or Beta show. this despite my NRR 30+ foamies. anybody have experience with the ER-20s or custom fit ER-25s or something else effective?
Ear Plugs
i live by my etymotics, love'em, they're my constant concert buddies. they're comfy, easy to put in and sound a bzillion times better than foam earplugs. one of the wiser $12 purchases you'll ever make. anything else i can tell you?
someday i'll spring for the custom fit. hum, xmas *is* coming up…

I'll second those ER's.
Pretty sure you recommended them to me, actually.

I have 'em too, they're quite good. Get 'em here.
Love them as well. I can hear everything perfectly and not have any ringing the next day.
in theory, the foamies should provide better protection than the er-20s but in practice i think i am not jamming the foamies into the ear far enough.
the er-20s look more ergonomic and no one here is complaining about hearing symptoms the next day, so they must work.
i will get a pair or two. what color should i choose?

they also can cause an unnatural build-up of earwax, which can lead to damaging pressure against the eardrum, if worn too much.

i found a place that sells ER-20s in bulk, 50 pairs for $340, $7.40 a pair. group order? j/k
I bought my friend a a pair of earloves and he likes them. Still haven't bought a pair for myself. I use the foam ones I get for free at work.
I always feel like the foam earplugs don't fit properly, and when I take them out and try to re-roll and re-insert them, they fit even worse.
I like the Mack's silicone ones (I think 22 db?).

i find the ear plugs also stuff up the ears if worn too long. specially designed ones with vents cost a lot more.
what's funny are the people who come unprepared for the volume and stuff tissue paper into their ears.

Though I maintain that GGW nailed it with his Earplugs are for the weak line, some of you might appreciate these:

interesting, I might have to get a pair. God I hate those foam ones. The new 930 ones don't look too bad either
