Robert Michael Reed -aka- Sike Dyke of Trouble Funk passed away of pancreatic cancer at the age of 50 on April 13, 2008 at 10:42pm. Dyke founded Trouble Funk in 1977 and served as keyboardist and vocalist including one of his most notable signature rap deliveries in the song "Pump Me Up."
The band was most famous for their 1982 album, Drop The Bomb, and hits like "Hey Fellas," "Trouble Funk Express" and "Pump Me Up."
He was a good man.

this was very sad for me
he was our original connection to this kind of music, and a really sweet guy
used to pronounce my name "Sheff"…"yo, Sheff"
on the anthology album, they thanked someone named Chef, but no mention of me, yet thanking plenty of people around me
I called him and just asked him how he thought my name was spelled
he said "you know…like the cook…did you see your name on the record?"
I will be 50 this year, and am starting to know more & more people with cancer
so it's all pretty weird
but…hey…we're here now so let's have fun
