Nightwatchman Roll-Call

Who is going? I hope it doesn't suck..
I went last year at Jammin Java. He puts on a pretty good show
A capitalist millionare singing about socialism and anarchy? What could possibly suck?
it'll be awesome, i can't wait.

i have 3 extra tickets… some workmates were interested in going, but now they're backing out because i didn't tell them the show was on a thursday (i only gave them the date  ). damn consultants…

anyhoo, if you need tickets, please PM me.
I think Morello is far more suited to sing political songs then most artists who sing them. The dude has a degree in political science from Harvard. He comes across very well spoken and knwoledgeable when he talks about governments, which is more than most political bands can say.

And he has also pointed out the irony in his singing these songs, but has anyone ever hated on Dylan for being rich and singing folk songs?

by the way, I am in no way comparing Dylan's songs to The Nightwatchman's songs. There are WORLDS of difference between them. As much as Morello would like to, he won't equal Dylan when it comes to folk songs.
I had thought about seeing him at Jammin Java but the show sold out. In all honesty i was hoping for better guests for DC. I picked up his record but haven't really listened to it much.
Yea, the JJ show sold out pretty quickly. But the place can only fit like 200 people.

As for his record, i own it, but rarely listen to it. Its not so much that its bad, or anything, it just lacks any really memorable moments. This is from a huge Rage fan, as well as a huge fan of acoustic folk (Dylan's first few albums).

I went to the JJ show because it was a chance3 to see Tom Morello in about as intimate a setting as possible. And i was first row, right in fron of his mike. I even helped the dude out by holding up his lyric sheet to This land.. so he could see it better. He did play a great version of This Land is Your Land. And an interesting acoustic version of Guerilla Radio.

Hope this show is good as well!

Has he pointed out the irony that he got rich and famous singing about revolution against corrupt corporations while making assloads of money for Epic/Sony?

Yes, he has. Numerous times.

And technically, Morello didn't get famous for "singing" about anything. He merely played guitar while de la Rocha sang.
i'll be there

Oh I see, that makes all the difference in the world
let's focus on the music…it's mediocre!
You're being generous.

Yeah, I know, but 10 bucks is 10 bucks.

There's a huge difference between my (or your) occasional negative comments towards a certain show and someone whose sole purpose for posting on this board being to out and out take the piss and pretend to like/hate bands that we all know they do not like/hate simply in an effort to be contrary and get a rise out of people.

He could be playing for free in my backyard and pay me $10 to come see him and I still think I'd turn the hose on him about 30 seconds in.
