Dinosaur Jr. reuniting?
I'm a member over on the band's official board (freakscene.net) and we've seen reports coming out of everywhere for a few months confirming this. We just hope for a US tour.
Talk about a band with a herd of balding 40ish fans! I remember Dinosaur from my college days. Guess that truly makes them rock dinosaurs. Maybe they will play on a cruise ship with Styx, Journey, and REO Speedwagon? :p
whoa.
Dinosaur Jr. was my favourite band ever until 1995 or so when that Radiohead band took over.
I lost my virginity to the sounds of my Green Mind tape :)

also, on the Dino Jr. tip, i believe they are remastering all the old discs (Bug, WCWM, Living all over Me) and releasing them again on 3/22.
Did you make it at least half way through the first song?

Originally posted by sonickteam2:Yeah, they have reworked tracklistings and videos and stuff too. Lots of stuff coming out of the Mascis camp.

huh…..I wasn't aware they'd split. ;)
Well it's not like J Mascis just disappeared, or that the Dinosaur songs have been locked in a vault. He still tours, a lot, as J Mascis & The Fog, and they play more Dino than Fog songs.
In fact, at the last Fog show a month or two ago at the Black cat (which was great), the only t-shirts they had for sale were Dino Jr. ones. Which were very cool, but $25?

One of my favorite guitar albums of all time fer sure.
i've been trying not to get my hopes up too high, but its been sounding more and more likely. mascis loves to fuck with the media, though. might travel to another close show for this

Dinosaur Jr came out in 1985 correct? and hit thier peak around 1989-1991? so if you were 14 in 1985 then you are 34 now! clearly they have more 30-ish fans than 40ish fans, i would think.
Styx, Journey and REO all came out in the 70s.

Great.. time to hear more caterwaling from a lead singer who sounds like a dying old man…
I figured if they were reuninting now, they'd all be dead by this time.
