I do like it. Not nearly as much as "Everything's Alright" but I do like it. I haven't heard anything after that one though, aside from the "Wake Up Boo" song which I liked and the "There She Goes" cover which was ok…

The reason why I prefer "Everything's Alright" is that, for me, the melodies are more interesting, and the quirky & diverse sounds are better integrated into their overall sound. I think the opening track on that album, "Spainard" is brilliant and "Does This Hurt?" is as good as shoegaze gets. But obviously, it's a subjective thing. I'm well aware that "Giant Steps" is considered their definitive album. But I will admit that I have a bit of a bias towards moody/introspective music and "Giant Steps" has less of that than "Everythings Alright". Also, I'm not a big fan of reggae and I have to be in the right mood for 60s sunshine pop (which some of it reminds me of), so therefore, it's a harder album for me to get into. Having said that, the more I listen to it, the more I like it, with some songs being stronger than others. So maybe someday I'll really be into it big time…

As for Whipping Boy, "Heartworm" is one of my all-time favorites. It's such a sad thing that virtually no one has heard it…

their swansong Kingsize is a very very good CD with the expcetion of one track which is terrible - Kingsize is probably my favorite after Giant Steps, then Everythings alright forever

Thanks for the info—I'll definitely check that one out as well as the rest of their albums.
