Over/Under on Pogues actual start times

We may as well begin with tonight's show, with an 11:00 scheduled start time for the Pogues.

Place your bets, place your bets.

I'm going with 11:45. Incredibly optimistic, I know…. :p
from what i hear only brazilians have a hard time getting to the stage on time ;)

the bigger question is whether or not they've cleared customs…
Not sure how long ago it was, but one of the Pogues 9:30 club shows didn't begin until after 1:00 a.m. (there were set to go on at 11:00, I think).
12:30 give our take 5 minutes.
Fuck, I totally forgot about their reputation for being notoriously late. I got all excited when I saw their start time was 10:00 on Friday, because if it got out by 11:30 or midnight, I'd still have time to go do some partying with my friends who didn't get tickets.

I'm going to say 11:00 for Friday. I'll be optimistic.
Ever the optimist, I say midnight, on the dot!!

-Paul!
yup, i'm going with that as well. make sure you have cab fare cuz metro is going to be long closed by the time you get out of the club!

they came on at 11.15

wow, wow, wow, fucking unbelievable show - great sound, great musicians, great lyrics

this is the third time I've seen them and this was easily the best

I highly recommend that even if you don't have a ticket swing by the club tomorrow night and see if you can pick one up - you won't regret it
kidda figured they would be "prompt"… expecting your fans to shell out $50 dollars to see you then make them wait isn't going sit too well with them.

They've done it before….THANKS, Brennser, for the report. I am getting very excited!!
i'm not denying it hasn't happened in the past, but as the pogues age so does their fanbase, paying $50 to around waiting for them is probably going to wear thin for some..
Is this now the roll call thread?

Looking forward to tonight…
No "Misty Morning Albert Bridge"? That's too bad, it's my favorite Pogues song. I'm still going to hope for a big rousing version of it tonight.
Hey, if anyone knows of an available ticket, I have a friend who is now interested….
Amazing show, great song selection and great sound. Incredible musicians, all of them, James Fearnley with the accordion, Spider Stacy, Terry Woods, Andrew Ranken, Jem Finer, Philip Chevron, Darryl Hunt… banjo, whistle, mandoline, saxo… fuck, unforgettable show, and by the way, great crowd. Thanks 9:30 for such a superb show. and thanks the Pogues for being what they are, one of the most brilliant bands ever.
They were on time and they were as great as these legends of music ever were. For the record, since reforming for the reunion tours the Pogues have not canceled or been unusually late for a gig. In addition, even though Shane has his demons, and some friends of mine saw him being helped up the delivery ramp on teh side last night and they said he looked rough, his voice was STRONG. Yeah, a bit of slurring now and then, and you would too if you were drinking and had no teeth, and a line or word in or out here or there, but this is Shane MacGowan. This is the Pogues.
reading last night's setlist just gave me chills…i am so unbelievably excited for tonight. i can't concentrate on work and i've had rsatl running through my head non-stop for the last week.

Took the words right out of my mouth, err, keyboard. I can't remember the last time I was this excited for a show. I want to the club in 84 or 85, but there was a sign that said, "Pogues - Sold Out. No Chance." I finally get to make up for that error frrom 20 years ago!

that's so sad…i'm glad you'll have a chance to see them tonight. i saw shane mcgowan about 6 or so years ago at the 9:30 and he was in really bad shape at that show. a week or so before that performance, a friend of his od'ed in his apartment outside london. i feared that it would be cancelled, but he went on anyway. i remember him barely being able to stand on his own.

anyone planning to knock back a few pints beforehand? i'm trying to decide where to pre-game…

We're doing dinner at Nanny's (though we should friggin' find a place to eat outside), and will be at DC9 by 8:00 to have a few pops before the show.
