What would you music experts say are the top 10 rock songs of the 70s? And by rock, I mean songs that RAWK, not obscure room-clearing prog-rock.

I agree there'd have to be some Bowie on the list…

it was hard not including such luminaries as steely dan, boston, early genesis as well as punk. . but you wanted rawk. but man, i really wanted to add "25 Or 6 to 4"

25 or 6 to 4 rawks… even though some would say it's not rawk…

great list. Although for Journey I think I'd chose "Feeling That Way/Anytime" over "Wheel in the Sky."

Fuck, yeah! Not so much their later, more Bryan Ferry controlled material but their first 5 or so albums definitely rocked.

It's too hard for me to come up with a short list like that from that long ago off the top of my head since there was so much but my list would probably include something by some of the following musicians.

Early Fleetwood Mac (BEFORE crap-ass Buckingham & Nicks joined them)
Something from the 1st or 2nd Alice Cooper ablum which was BEFORE that Love It to Death black and white cover album most of you are probably thinking of.

These songs are from the 60s. They released some music in the 70s but probably most of what you are thinking of is from the late 60s. But I fully agree that they put out some great, rocking music that is just as strong today as it was back then.
