We Are Scientists Question

Does anyone know/have any knowledgeable predictions if the We Are Scientists show at the Black Cat next Tuesday will sell out? I'm trying to figure out if I should get tickets in advance. On this topic, is there an online forum for the BC similar to the FAQs here that can be checked?
I'm actually pretty surprised it hasn't sold out by now. I recommend that you send Black Cat an email and ask how tickets sales look.
Thanks. I didn't know about messenging the BC directly. I sent a message and will post the reply when it comes.
my body is your body, i won't tell yo baby's daddyyy
If you really want to go to the show, get your ticket in advance. I'll be very surprised if it doesn't sell out. Why risk it? The service charge is only $3.75 ($0 if you stop by the club and buy your ticket).
Hey - any forum regulars going to this? I'm interested and, as Bombay mentiones, should get a ticket soon if I want to be sure about getting in….
I'll be there. I'm not blown away by the album but it sounds like they'll be entertaining live.
I'll be there. I agree that the album isn't earth shattering. But those guys crack me up and put on a fun live show. Especially when they tour with bands they like.

I'm definitely going to be there! Already have my ticket. I think they are better live than their album may lead you to think.
I saw We Are Scientists open for Ambulence Ltd at the black cat earlier this year and it was not enjoyable in my opinion, nor did it sound similar to their album. But im not a fan of that either. On the other hand, if you love a note or two played over and over with some extremely long and overused echo and some super scenesters with little musical talent, then this is the show for you.

I have friends that hated Ambulance Ltd at that show. I missed it and happen to love them, but you have to admit that the two have very different sounds, and I was a little surprised to see them touring together. However, having seen We Are Scientists two times now, I can't help but feel like your assessment of "a note or two played over and over . ." etc isn't quite fair. At all. They throw themselves into their live show, don't have a "super scenester" persona (onstage or off) at all, and really rachet up the level of the musicality present on the album.

There is a lot of echo, but I think they have to use it because Keith does double duty as vocals and guitar and they want to beef up the sound without compromising either aspect.
They are not necessarily bad…it's just their songs lack hooks…and compared to other dance-punk bands, they're just alright. I'd take Bloc Party or Rapture anytime.

I picked up 2 tickets, so I'll be there. I was down in the Red Room while they played before Ambulance Ltd – my bad. We'll see…

they kind of remind me of the blink-182 of scenester indie rock, not that there's anything wrong with that
i'll be there as well.

saw them open for someone at black cat a while back (ratatat?), and wasn't too impressed, despite the hype (signed to matador, blog-love, etc) … you can hear them for yourself on emusic
i'm guesing set times will be 9,10,11?

i think i'll get there around 9.45 to catch the double.
Not looking forward to lining up outside the Black Cat in the rain…
