Anyone? Pretty psyched…especially to get home by 9:30 :)
Jay Reatard rollcall
he goes on stage at 10:30…they changed the door time :)
It was just a joke based on his short set times.

Very much in.
His newer material is slower; wonder if that could result in a slightly longer set?

True…I still haven't heard some of the newer singles.

i might make it if i decide to see the high heel race on 17th..
I'll be having a girls night with my wife, watching Baby Mama on dvd.
so this is pretty much guaranteed to sell out right? I wouldn't mind going but need to get kids in bed and don't want to schlep down there for 9.30 only to find it sold out
ETA: never mind - looks like you can buy tix in advance for backstage shows now

Strange thing happened when I tried to buy a ticket for this online today.
I encountered that stupid new "card verification" thing on tm, tried entering the info they wanted and got locked out from online orders after a "card verification failure" error. Must not have entered something in according to their format or something. Had to charge by phone the old fashion way.
Identity theft paranoia is getting too out of hand.
Next thing you know, you'll have to mail in a stool sample before being allowed to make any online purchases.

It's so awesome that you had to call up a desk jockey at Ticketmaster and request tickets to see Jay Reatard perform. That's the heart of rock n roll, baby.

It was hard to say it with a straight face.
And she didn't repeat his name.
"So you want 1 ticket for tonight at the black cat…"

the dudes just said that times new viking will be live in studio next tuesday.

Yeah I enjoyed it.
Listening to all the stuff they played before he went on made me wish I'd have tried landing a slot at wmuc while I went to school at UMD. Could've been a lot of fun.
Maybe once I get into grad school…

Hello to all.
Few quick thoughts:
Great show except for my awkward moment with the lead singer of the opening act.
That was fucking weird.
No idea as to what the hell he was trying to do.
Jay Reatard's set came off 10x as effective on the backstage in a full room than it did upstairs.
"An Ugly Death" and "I'm Watching You" sound a lot better with the synth like on the studio versions than they do reworked for the live setting.
I clocked the set in at about 30 minutes give or take a minute.
Liked tonight's set way better than the one from last spring because it just worked better downstairs.
