Oh CRAP!!!! I just dropped off some Japanese customers down at The Grand Hyatt right across the street!!!!!!! Seriously. Oh shit, oh shit…

It was weird, they had semi trailers ringing the whole place. I guess that was to keep projectiles down.

I went by in early afternoon and I could see its big, hulking, semi-wrecked mass looming in the distance… kind of odd.

Someone was saying how that Convention Center introduced many people to Downtown DC who otherwise would have never ventured from the Mall and Monuments. But I wonder about that, because for many of its first years of life, that was a neighborhood where you could get mugged or worse if you weren't careful.

In that case, thank goodness I was able to get all the incriminating evidence, such as below, downloaded before that happened!

My batteries are dead in my camera, but it looks like a big mess right now. I work directly next door to it. Apparently some windows on the west side of the building were shattered.

I heard it from my house near the Black Cat. I tried to wake up for it…really I wanted to come down and watch it crumble!
