I thought that last weeks episode was freaking great…but last nights a little slow. Thoughts on the new season?
Also anyone watching Big Love? I have been and I'm really digging it. Harry Dean Stanton is so classic….

The new season will be awesome. The first episode was great. and i think this last one had to be what it was, but i think that this could be the best season, with Tony down everyone else is gonna go nutso.
should be great…i like Silvio better than Tony anyway!!

I liked last night's Sopranos. From the "Next week on.." clips it looked like this week was how the Soprano family deals with Tony being shot and next week looked like who THE Family deals with Tony being shot. I liked the "optics salesman" Tony too, especially getting slapped by a Buddhist monk.

I thought last night's episode was fantastic. Purgatory-bizarro-Tony without the accent?
My guess is he will eventually die and they will fill up the episodes with lots more of these dream sequences and flashbacks. What will be interesting to see is how they fill the void left by Tony. I can see Paulie, Silvio, Christopher, and even AJ struggling for the power.

It does look like they're setting up to kill him off so that chaos just erupts…but I just have a hard time believing they'll kill Tony with 20 or so episodes to go in the series.

i think that they wont kill Tony at all. ever.
because now that everyone expects him to die….they'll let him live.

maybe they'll let the series wind out with tony living in his f-ed up alterna-universe in his head and the rest of the family unraveling at the seams. i was actually thinking that they were gonna do a memento thing where everything works it's way backwards from the first episode tracking back to the fed's jump on johnny sacks 22 mos prior.
i'm really disappointed with big love. with the cast (stanton, dern, paxton, triplehorn, sevigny), i was expecting much more, but i just don't think the writer's are going to be able to move the current storylines along and still keep it interesting. the whole arsenic poisoning thing is kind of ridiculous. i wish i had a bit more background on the polygamy/compound thing as it currently exists in utah.

Read "Under The Banner of Heaven" – only problem is, once you read how fucked up it all is (the polygamy really seems about letting men marry several 14, 15, 16-year old girls, including sisters of current wives), 'Big Love' comes off as WAY too functional.
