Tim Burgess has a solo album…… Its not meant to be very good. I think his show will be him and a guitar.

I love the Charlatans (up until about 1998), but Tim Burgess solo? PUH-LEEZE. That's one I will safely skip. Personally, they should have packed it in after Rob Collins died.

I never saw GWAR, but I did see Death Piggy once. I can only imagine the oddness they've developed in 15+ years.

Does my wife have to post a picture of me touching myself to get this thread back on topic? This thread is about how excited we are that the best band in the world, the Old 97's are playing the BB and the 9:30 CLub. Please, no more GWAR posts. I am not touching myself over the prospect of a GWAR show.

The 9:30 site says "Friday, January 23rd" (the correct calendar date); the Bowery Ballroom site says "Friday, January 24th and Saturday, 25th" (sic). So does DC get the Friday night date, or does NYC get Friday and Saturday and leave us with, say, Thursday?

Celeste and I weren't saying anything. Others were speculating on a possible Old 97's show, which appears to be happening. You should go, you might like them.

Well that may be so, but the Old 97's are so excellent live, it would be hard for anybody not to enjoy themselves.

I once went to a 930 triple-bill, Backsliders+Old 97s+SCOTS. Thought 97s were OK, but definitely came in 3rd place

I think it'll be a great show – I haven't seen them, but I have non-forum friends who have vouched for them as well. I hope hope hope we get Friday night in DC! I can't make it to NY that weekend…
