The Beeb have censored "faggot" and "an old slut on junk" from "Fairytale of New York" Couldn't they just have made a substitution? Like:
"You're a bum, you're a punk, you're Amy Winehouse."
or
"You're a bum, you're a punk, you're Courtney Love."
?

Its funny how it's a big deal over there, but over here "faggot" is normally censored by most any radio station.

on some days, i walk down around my life thinking that "faggot" is a funny word with spark and appeal on a level that is personal, and with true merit as a sincere expression of so many ranges of human emotion, whether faked with hidden obscurities or from the heart renditions of a soul sturdy belief. words are not here for our control.
and other times i think they are just another fashion accessory excuse that hangs around so proud and so loud in directions toward the face and to the ground, from the baggy pant, sideways cap boys who give all those other guys a bad fucking name who just want to wear their ball caps on to a bar because they are having a bad fucking hair day.
hey brian . . . merry christmas buddy. let do lunch sometime. we could exchange various, pleasant plaugues of thought.

I thought it was "a bundle of sticks." I guess I don't know my Scottish heritage very well.

Actually, in the UK I think it refers to a cigarette.
