Songs About CT, RI, or New England?

I anticipate this is going to be the most popular thread ever. Trying to put together a playlist and was hoping you all could help. Here's what I got so far:

Jonathan Richman - New England

The Softies - Holiday in Rhode Island

Judy Garland with Bing Crosby - Connecticut (hi-larious, by the way)

Billy Bragg - A New England

this isn't about New England…rather a new England.
but i'm assuming you know that?
Fountains of Wayne – Valley Winter Song
The Standells - Dirty Water

Government Issue - Connecticut
wbcn in boston used to always play this as part of their theme music…this was in the 80's and very early 90's before they changed format and became sucky:

Dirty Water
THE STANDELLS
(Ed Cobb)

(spoken:)
I'm gonna tell you a story
I'm gonna tell you about my town
I'm gonna tell you a big bad story, baby
Aww, it's all about my town

Yeah, down by the river
Down by the banks of the river Charles (aw, that's what's happenin' baby)
That's where you'll find me
Along with lovers, fuggers, and thieves (aw, but they're cool people)
Well I love that dirty water
Oh, Boston, you're my home (oh, you're the Number One place)
Frustrated women (I mean they're frustrated)
Have to be in by twelve o'clock (oh, that's a shame)
But I'm wishin' and a-hopin, oh
That just once those doors weren't locked (I like to save time for
my baby to walk around)
Well I love that dirty water
Oh, Boston, you're my home (oh, yeah)

Because I love that dirty water
Oh, oh, Boston, you're my home (oh, yeah)

Well, I love that dirty water (I love it, baby)
I love that dirty water (I love Baw-stun)
I love that dirty water (Have you heard about the Strangler?)
I love that dirty water (I'm the man, I'm the man)
I love that dirty water (Owww!)
I love that dirty water (Come on, come on) [fade]
Pixies – U-Mass
Mighty Mighty Bosstones – They Came to Boston

Yeah, but it still works. After all, that's what New England is (or was intended to be).
The Allstonians - The Allston Beat
dropkick murphys - for boston
Emo bands like New England.

Get Up Kids - A Newfound Interest in Massachusetts
Promise Ring - Pink Chimneys
Piebald - Fear and Loathing on Cape Cod
Sweet Baby James Taylor sings of the Berkshires and the road from Stockbridge to Boston.
Steve Miller – Jet Airliner
Slaid Cleaves: "Vacationland"; about Maine of course…

Or Skinhead on the MTA
The Dismemberment Plan - The Ice of Boston
Ted Leo + The Pharmacists - Bridges, Squares
Willie Alexanderâ??Mass. Ave.
Magnetic Fieldsâ??Long Vermont Roads (though Vermont appears only in the first line and the song then meanders across the country)
Modern Loversâ??Roadrunner; Government Center
The Reducersâ??Rocks [many of the songs by this wonderful punk-blues band, still around after 25 years, are about the oxymoronic greater New London (Conn.) area, but this one actually says so. Chorus: Rocks/sticking out of the ocean/Rocks/New London hardly ever does/Rockâ?¦. ]

I agree that â??A New Englandâ? belongs in even if Bragg didnâ??t exactly mean it that way; you might consider the Too Much Joy cover (plus they kind of swallow the â??Aâ? in the lyric for much of it)

Surely someoneâ??s done a cover of that treacly â??Please come to Boston for the springtimeâ?¦.â?
Just curious… What's with all the playlist posts recently?

That's actually the area I hail from. I'll have to check them out…

Where is New England?
Not a song per se, just a hysterical message.

Sonic Youth - Providence
