I am sure you guys already talked about this, but Radiohead is looking for venues that can get fans there with reduced CO2 emissions, while that may not be Pimlico, they may be impressed if you show them all the other green works at last years show. http://www.ateaseweb.com/2007/12/19/how-radiohead-fans-can-reduce-co2-emissions/

This thread, despite a Seth appearance, still suffers from a distinct lack of confirmations or denials!

I saw the same thing on Wikipedia so it must be true.

OK…let me rephrase…how did you like last year's lineup?
Hopefully, like SXSW and Bumpershoots, there will be the first ever east coast Flatstock tent there. Hint hint.
Personally, I'd rather there be less mainstream headline acts that no doubt play a major role in ticket price inflation. But I guess marketing research has probably determined that those types of acts are necessary to draw in the masses.

Been to the one at Bumbershoot. Very cool.

an east coast flatstock would be amazing
My take is that the lineup for last years festival was fab for the first day and stinky for the second… Were it not for the brutally hot weather and being UNDERWHELMED by the Police at Bonnaroo, it would have been worth my while to get a one day VIP pass for that one day.

Personally, I'd been more interest in a festival with two medium size stages with the type of acts that typically play the 9:30 club or auditoriums. Just not that interested in most arena level acts these days. The best part of the first Vfest was the vibe at the second stage, people hanging out, listening to music and not crammed in like sardines. Totally opposite to what the conditions were around the main stage.

Bonnaroo for me was a cool experience because I could easily wander between the smaller stages and catch parts of several bands sets. The open air tent structures were nice as well for this festival..
I would tend to agree, but then why not just see those bands within the intimate confines of the club?

Not to plug an outside event, but the University of Baltimore in College Park is doing something called Sweet Booth in support of a concert poster art exhibit titled Sweet. There will be 13 or so different artists from around the country, including El Jefe Design , selling there stuff on February 6th, the same day the exhibit opens. The exhibit itself will have roughly 27 designers each showing ten pieces.

Paste already mentioned this here: Rock Poster Article
How about you move it back to September when its not close to 100 degrees again?

Partly, because I'm not going to see every band that comes through the club, a festival gives you the opportunity to sample artists, see bands that you passed up on, play catch up with, etc… I honestly was never completely sold on the Hold Steady until catching part of their set at Bonnaroo, and now they are a band I'll make the effort to see again.
Perhaps this is why the Foo Fighters have no local dates on their current tour?
Fair enough. For me, I just don't see the need to see every band, be it over a number of nights at a club, or strung out through an entire day…
