There are absolutely no good things about that tsunami. Not even a CNN anchor pronouncing an island's name wrong.

Agreed. We got back from Phuket on the 20th. Having seen how remote some of the outer islands are, I think it will be weeks before Thailand is able to get an accurate estimate of the number of casualties.

Yeah, 80,000+ dead shouldn't inspire bathroom humor, even from the likes of some on this board.

Ok, get a grip everyone. He was trying to find a positive with all this negativity. On a more positive note, with our luck, maybe some of the dead were terrorists.

The best thing, so far, about this wave has been CNN. Their anchor just called pedophile-haunt, Phuket, "Fuck It". Scouts honor.
What other headlines are there in "3rd-grade Gazette"?

The best thing about tidal waves is the disaster movie:

I was planning on being in Phuket when I was in Thailand in November, but we went to Ko Samui and Khao Sok instead … really really freaky though, seeing all those homemade videos on the news …

Sometimes, there isn't a positive to be found.
Dead terrorists sounds pretty positive to me?
On the subject of terrorists, did you all hear about the massive bank robbery in Belfast? It's now reported that the IRA cowards did it to fund "retirement plans" for them when this so called peace deal goes into effect :D …also, part fo the peace deal is for the IRA to "promise" not to participate in any illegal activity. I thought being a member of a terrorist organization a criminal act in itself?

So, if "phuket" is proununced Pukett, is Phi Phi pronounced Pee Pee?
The asian wave sure puts the mexican wave to shame….okay that's my one and only sick joke on the subject.
I was in Colombo Sri Lanka and Maylasia. It was over 20 years ago, but still gave me the eebie jeebies watching the destruction on telly. Maylasia did nothing for me to be honest, but I loved Colombo…I felt like David Niven sat in a tea-room in the city centre, sipping tea while talking to the waiter about cricket.
