Hank III has played the 9:30 before, but I'm pretty sure he's cancelled in DC more than he's actually shown up.

Hank III is great but IIRC there was some big falling out when his fiddle player got cancer and that has left a bad taste all around.

His 9:30 Club show in December 2002 didn't happen because his asshole management cancelled all of his booked shows when he told them that he was going with another agency. Other than that, there hasn't been any "cancellations" in DC, he played 9:30 in 2000 and 2001 and Black Cat in 2000 and 2004.

And to second the opinion of the girl looking for her lost cowboy, JB Beverley and the Wayward Drifters are one of the best groups coming out of the DC area right now, FWIW they're opening up for Lee Rocker@Black Cat this Saturday.
