It was AWESOMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! One of the best this year for sure.

ixkpd - you're probably thinking of Kiss the Devil from the first album. I was hoping they'd play it in the encore and they did and it's worth the $15 alone!
Don't forget "Brown Sugar."

I concur. One of the better shows I have been to this year. I am not sure if it was all part of the schtick, but those dudes played their asses off and looked like they were having a great time on stage. It was one of those shows where everything seemed to be clicking.
I was literally front and center for this one. The Duke Spirit put on a pretty damn good show. Liela was in grand form strutting around and I think the crowd was fairly impressed with them in general. Wasn't sure how the EODM fans would react to them, but their new album has an immediacy and accessibility that their debut lacked, and they were heavy on the new stuff.

EODM were great. Jesse actually came outside and chatted and signed stuff before the show, was very friendly. On stage he was doing his thing, hamming it up better than almost any frontman I've ever seen. The songs were tight and the sound was great even if the vocals could've been a bit higher in the mix.

For "Wannabe in L.A." they brought Liela out to sing with them. All around good show.
The Duke Spirit could borrow some hooks/melodies from EoDM!!!

Yeah, how could you forget Brown Sugar. I swear that song was for you, ixkpd-bk ;)
that set list has holes in it.. they played creeper>bag o miracles>cherry cola

great show! i am a believer!

also, kudos to eagles of death metal for allowing videoing of their show.. i think thats really cool and more bands should do that!

i'm sorry but duke spirit was boRING… yes she's a blondie look alike i'd like to show a good time and yes they are a professional band but their songs had nothing going for them…. more than 50% of people missed their set and i wish i had..
ran into a few characters but overall had a good time. hadnt heard an eodm song until yesterday and i'm now fan. that drummer sure does sweat and spit a lot…gross

loved the duke spirit and look forward to them coming back for their own show. there were a lot of people there during their set and the crowd seemed to like them from where i was.
Seeing the awesome Joey Castillo (who I'm pretty sure was sick as a dog) show up instead of Gene was pretty terrific. A major bonus to an already tight band. With Joey on the skins, those guys were unstoppable. Bombay, sorry that I disappeared with my drinks, had to get back to my barricade spot!

I really, really enjoyed the show, though I'm feeling destroyed today. Also, I totally lucked out in getting a cab. I had to walk to 14th Street, and trust me, finding a cab at 1:45 a.m. on U Street on a Tuesday night is like looking for a $20 on the sidewalk. It was nuts.

Interesting sidenote: a friend of mine was the one wearing the cute & fuzzy hat that kept appearing on Jesse's head. Initially he took the hat and my friend was like "um…I need that back" but then ultimately he gave it over. He did manage to get it back afterwards. Lots of interaction with the band though, and likewise I met some characters but they were ALL good.

I loved the "Pigeons of Shit Metal" tattoo as well.
It's all about KISS THE DEVIL…I need to hear it again live!
"I Like to Move in the Night" fucking RULED too. And "Secret Plans". And "Whorehoppin'".
I broke my finger at the show last night, I pulled some guy out of the crowd who was harassing this chick. He swung at me, I ripped his shirt and pulled him to the gruond. Thank god I was off to the side of the stage because security jumped on him. THey took him backstage to talk to him and he fought at least 4 or 5 security guards. My finger is sore as hell, bent to the left a little and purple. My lady friend got Jesse's Coke can at the begining of the encore. The show was AMAZING, their setlist was solid! Surprised they played "I'm A Fool" that was surprising. I wish they'd do 2 nights!

wow sorry to hear about your finger..didn't even realize shit had been going down..

I agree about just how good this show was…definitely my kind of show: rocking, upbeat, no bullshit, no jam band wankery, straight up, great frontman, tons of extras thrown into the set list..

I posted a little video at www.47west63rd.blogspot.com

for those who want to relive it or weren't able to make it (includes some of the bantering about the hat..)..
Son of a bitch. I really wish I had gone to the show. :(
Nice…you can totally see my shaved head in the video bobbing around.
that was me. really really sorry to hear about your finger but very thankful that you got the little man out of there. i'm still unsure if he was trying to kiss me or bite me.

And this is the half of the show that I had to miss because my friend wanted to leave at 12:30. He needs to be replaced.

NP - I figured as much. I was surprised you left that spot in the first place. :)
