hfstival

anyone hear the date and place this morning?

I read Radiohead will be there, so was considering wading through the drunkards to go this year.
perhaps the end of the world IS coming…but does anyone else have a hard time believing that Radiohead would have ANYTHING to do with a radio festival? I dont know, just doesnt seem like their thing.

i know they are supposed to be touring around that time, but i would be less surprised to see them play at Merriweather on the 29th!
They're already playing Bonnarro and hanging out with all the dirty hippies. What's the difference if they hang out with all the drunk jocks at the hfstival?

You don't think HFStival being at a seated venue will cut down almost completely on the drunken jocks?

Bonnaroo has no radio station affiliation, and you know that!

sure, since the venue is 1/4 the size!!! the percentage may not drop too significantly.

I mean, i have been to Merriweather shows where there have been a bunch of drunk a-holes!

No, I disagree, I do think the precentage would drop. If you put a lineup like they had last year in an assigned seating venue, you're going to see alot those people (a) not wanting to see the bands and (b) not able to mosh. Why would they go?
I heard Radiohead is playing the Fairfax Fair, along with Everclear and Seven Mary Three.
I wasn't saying it had a radio station affilation. But, I also don't see a difference between stoned out hippies who don't wash their hands and drunk jocks. They're both annoying.

nevermind. so where did you read they would be playing?

Well, from an artist's point of view, there's a big difference. A radio show with corporate sponsorship is way different than a Bonnaroo or a Coachella.

I can't see Radiohead doing HFS for that reason alone, but stranger things have happened.

And, I've been to Bonnaroo and I wash my hands….often. I also don't smoke pot, unless my supply of 'shrooms has run out. ;)
well, i have been to Bonaroo and HFStival and if we can say that HFStival is full of drunken jocks, then we can ALSO say that Bonnaroo is full of dirty neo-hippies (cause these people arent really hippies)

its about the same percentage, so lets be fair here.
Mike/Sonick/Tom, chill. I agree with you. The majority of people at Bonnaroo are neo-hippies. I was only trying to be a bit snarky, adding a winkie face icon thingie at the end of my sentence about washing my hands and mushrooms.

But neo-hippies bother me FAR FAR less than drunk jocks who tend to get aggressive. The neo-hippies just pass out or do their whirling dervish dance. The drunk jocks puke and fight each other.
anyone who's ever gotten caught in the wind tunnel that is a bunch of neo-hippies spinning around and flinging their arms everywhere would disagree on that one.
drunk jocks may be violent. but they dont take themselves so damn seriously and if they are in your way, you can just push them over or something.

its really a toss up for me!
I agree with Arlette – the shirtless, goateed, inebriated assclowns who think playing high school football counts for something in life are far, far more annoying than the clueless, unwashed burnouts.
